There you can eat just like if you were in Portugal. Many Brazilians are used to eating traditional food of Portugal due to our long term relation with them. Codfish is a must, with potatoes.

The venue was prefect for our business lunch. Waite staff know how to serve and have patience for the business discussions. Excellent food choices and very nice venue.

A traditional restaurant in Rio de Janeiro in one of the old traditional points of the city, near to the old imperial Palace, in the square where there is a traditional northeastern fair in weekends. Rich and very good iberic food, most of it portuguese. Fairly long winelist. Traditional and old staff, good service. The only caveat is the cost,... More

My husband and I went there with my sister and brother in law. The food was good, but wish we have ordered a different dish, their food is usually great, according to my family. We loved the service, it was exceptional. I was just very disappointed/surprised that the English menu was 100 Reais more per dish than the Portuguese one. Make... More

Since the 70's this place tops my choice as the best Seafood Restaurant in Rio. It's worth crossing the city to experience the bacalhau or any other specialties on the menu

This restaurant is famous for the quality of its Portuguese food, and has been so for many decades. A place to go. Probably will only eat better Portuguese food in top restaurants in Lisbon

Business dinner wed night, just two tables in use? The food is very good, try bacalhau na natas, and was a surprise to see a restaurant this good empty in a touristic city, even if Sao Cristovao isn't the place at night. Kind of pricy, one traditional plate is enough for three, bolinhos de bacalhau as appetizer is also recomended.

There is no words to explain you how is that. Their speciality is Portuguese culinary with focus on cod fish. We have ordered the "Maria da Fonte" it's a cod Fried in olive oil, with Portuguese potatoes, drizzled in a sauce of onion and garlic... just great... and one dish serves two hungry persons. If you like Portuguese culinary and... More

This place is very busy at lunch, so you will need reservations. This restaurant specializes in codfish of various recipes. Though, there are non-fish items on the menu for those who desire something other. You can order a menu item for two or get multiple menu items and share. They give codfish balls as starter and these are excellent. This... More
