The service was great; not overbearing but still friendly and helpful. The food was great, one of the best meals I've had in Rio, well prepared and tasted yummy. I had the chicken with local catupiry cheese, my friend had the filet with mushroom sauce, we were both pleased. His meat was a little too pink for him, but I... More

Lovely evening, felt we were having a real, friendly Rio experience. Waiters attentive and helpful, fish tasty and fresh. Authentic and reasonably priced. So much better than many of the fancy overpriced restaurants we have experienced. Recommended by our hotel who gave us a voucher for a free capirinhia! What's not to like?

Visited as a party of six. Great table and great atmosphere. The menu is extensive with wonderful meat and seafood options. The wine is well priced for the area. The service was attentive without being overly pushy. A good place for a dinner with atmosphere.

Lovely restaurant that seems to cater to the locals. We were referred here by our hotel concierge. I had the shrimp stew and my partner had the seafood stew with coconut. The half portions were enough for two!!!! Meals were served with rice and farofa. Again it's a lot of food but very satisfying. Definitely worth trying. Not a cheap... More

The only thing I would recommend is the oysters; they were fresh and good value. The rest of the experience was disappointing. Busy on Sundays, expect at least a 30 minute wait. Seafood was poorly cooked. This is yet another disappointing seafood experience in Rio; stick to the meat.

We went with four friends and were immediately made welcome by friendly and helpful staff. The choice was good however this is a fish restaurant and I had the salmon which was excellent. The wines were reasonably priced and service was prompt. The bald headed guy who told me his name which I have forgotten was especially helpful. We also got... More

We had ordered calamari, crab cakes, seafood spaghetti, 2 Bohemia beers, and one orange juice. R$160 was the total bill with tip included. The calamari and seafood spaghetti was extremely salty. The food was better at my hotel which was the Atlantica Windsor. The cab ride was short R$7 which was cheap and the bill for the food was not... More

The waiters were very friendly and the food was delicious and fresh. We ate a "Caldeirada de frutos do mar".

Had a nice quiet meal here one evening in Rio as our host had recommended it as a near by option. It is on the back block furthest from the beach in Copacabana, we sat outside. The waiter was helpful and provided us with an English menu after watching us trying to translate the Portuguese menu. They have a lot... More

Had the house Moqueca and as usual it was brilliant with a great taste. This restaurant is well located in Copacabana just behind the metro station at Cardeal Arcoverde in a quiet street. It can get busy at the weekends A great range of fish dishes so there should be something for everybody

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
