Some of the best food I’ve had in my life, and happens to be Peruvian. I’ve spent time in Peru in Lima, Cusco and beyond and am hard to please. This gem in RJ Brazil sources the best ingredients period, offers the finest flavor profiles, service and ambiance, and BLEW ME AWAY. Owner Margarita is a Le Cordon Bleu certified Master Chef as an affirmation, but the experience itself transcends all that. As I write this I’m still reminiscing of how amazing the full experience was. WOW

If you’re in Rio de Janeiro, you can’t miss this great restaurant located at the very charming area called Flamengo. Amazing food with delicious flavors and special spices. Desserts are very tasty as well. I’m looking forward to visiting that place again.

Yesterday night we had an awesome dinner at Intihuasi. The Ceviche is just amazing! I just arrived from Peru and even there I haven't eaten much better. It's a must-go if you're a fan of peruvian food. Don't miss it! I will definitely come back soon.

We had a great dinner on Friday. It was not crowded, but it was full. We had the traditional ceviche as entrance and it was delicious! As main dish, we shared the quinua risotto, which was just perfect. By the way, you must try the Pisco Sour. Its just perfect. Price is fair. The place is good and small + comfortable. And the service is good. I recommend it a lot!!

I visited Intihuasi late on a Thursday evening for a meal with my partner and parents-in-law. My father-in-law had been there before and seemed excited to share the experience with the rest of us - none of which had tried Peruvian food before. We ordered a couple entrees (somethings made of corn - can't recall the exact name, but they came in a plate with four - and ceviche), both which were fine - I didn't care for either but it was more of a personal taste thing than the food itself - but the service was slow and the waiters not very friendly. For the main course, my parents-in-law shared some sort of stew dish, which they liked, but didn't love. My partner had the duck ceviche, and, in his own words it was "good, not very salty" and I had the lamb, served with rice, quinoa salad, and fried manioca balls. My meal was perfectly adequate and well-served, though it was far from the best meal I ever had and way too expensive. For dessert we all had the same thing, a dulche-de-leche based dessert, which was very good and plentiful. Overall, this is a decent place, but the price and the staff make it not worth it - especially because there are several other better, cheaper places in the area. Two entrees, three main courses (one for two people, as it was stated in the menu that it was a sharing dish, and it was), three desserts, a coffee, two waters, two beers, a soda and an iced tea, plus service, came to about $600 - a very, very steep price for what you get. Cannot recommend this place, but if you do decide to visit it you're not likely to be *too* sorry.

The food was good. I had an appetizer because I wasn't very hungry but everybody else all had dinner. They all said their food was good. We visited on May 15, 2016.

Great restaurant! Service was great, and the food... awesome! I didn't expect such a great meal! It seems a bit expensive, but it's worth it! The meals were served about 10min after we ordered, pretty fast! (We were there for lunch, around 1 PM)

Excellent food, great service. Menu was well designed, some flavours were unique but non clashed. Great place for an intimate dinner or a lunch with friends. We went as a group of friends (11pax) on a sunday, oredered lots of tapas and share plates and had a fantastic experience ($850reals). Definitively recommend.

Four of us had lunch on Sunday 25 October 2015 and the meal was quite pleasant. My wife had the mixed cebiche with various types of seafood. One of my sisters-in law and I had the sliced leg of lamb with a quinoa salad and rice and the other sister had a very nice salmon dish. The pisco sours were superb and the beer was very cold. The three sisters had Mazamorra morada for dessert and they loved it. The waiter service is very good. Do not forget that the restaurant is not open on Sunday evenings. The only downside that I can think of is that the owner was stepping outside to smoke and he would leave his burning cigarette in the ashtray just outside of the door. Since the door was not closing well, the smell of his smoke was coming to our table. In addition to the fact that where he was smoking was illegal because the law reads any covered or partially covered area. I do recommend this restaurant.

If you happen to be in Rio and you remember Peru and the great food you had there, the obvious choice is Intihuasi. In the neighborhood Flamengo, this tiny restaurant is the true representative of Peruvian cuisine. I was there with my family (3 people ) and had a great experience. To start, the Ceviches, which you can share. To go with that we had Pisco Sours to drink. The main dishes were well balanced and nicely presented and served. The service is attentive, without being obtrusive. After the great meal we had deserts. Crema de Limeña is the best of them. All in all, we spent the equivalent to US$ 130,00 which I think was money very well spent.

If the owner is Peruvian is an scamer, Or maybe he's street vendor but definitely doesn't know anything about Peruavian Food but the worst part is they charge you as you are eating in France or New York . Close that place. Understood that people in Brasil need to work but do it right.

I love Peruvian food so I went and checked out the Intihuasi restaurant with my family. The place is very small but nice. Service is good although rather distant and serious. We ordered lomo saltado, arroz con mariscos and ceviche. It was good quality tasty classic peruvian food. The problem is with the price. 50 to 70 $R per plate is generally the price for a two-person meal in Rio. Here it is for one person (not a very hungry one) and the slightest thing on the menu was 25R$. The food was good but without creativity, these were just good old classics that cost 15R$ in Lima with similar quality. For me the price was not justified and for this reason I would not recommend it.
