Sophisticated French restaurant, nice atmosphere, decorated in a French way, excellent reception, nice wine options, excellent and delicious food. It is worth the visit and the money

Great food with a view to the beach

It is quite obvious when you cross the door that this is a high-end restaurant so the high price should not be a surprise. That said, Marcel is a French-themed restaurant with an elegant decoration and a menu that offers many different options - including a separate lobster menu. The food was delicious, and the view to the beach in a sunny afternoon was a great complement. Service was ok, but could be better. I asked if they had some fruit juice, got a positive answer and ordered for one person. I ended up getting a full jar of juice - good stuff but too large for one person, so a significant part was left in the jar. Not good for the environment, not good for my wallet.

Good ambiance, very good and professional staff, some differences from the main house in Sao Paulo, especially some local dishes. Excellent souflees. Worth going.

Part of the Holiday Inn complex. The menu offers fine dining at fine dining prices. The pool and leisure complex immediately above the restaurant is currently being demolished and refurbished but this does not appear to have affected opening of the premises

Not really french

Too expensive for not real french food. The food in general is good. The service is not adequate for the price of the food. I would see the restaurant as a "normal" reataurant in any European city with the difference that they ask for top hot cuisine prices.

The best seafood in Fortaleza

Awesome seasoning. You should try the shrimp with cheese risotto. The Sirigado fish is simply a delicatessen. Whether it is with garlic or a herb sauce, make sure you try this!

Fine french restaurant for a romantic dinner. Try the tasty "Brandade de Morue" (cod cream with gruyere cheese) as entry and the fresh "Le Bar en goujonette Murat" (grilled fish rings with potatos, lettuce, tomato, champignon, and potato cubes). For dessert, we enjoyed a nice "Crepe Normande" (apple-filled flambé on liquor). The interiors were appropriate for special occasions, with a nice piano playing along with the good service provided gave us a lovely experience. The price is fair for their quality.

Great French Cuisine in Fortaleza

Good location. Nice interior decoration and space. Good service. Really good food with excellent presentation. It was lobster season and they had a special menu with more than ten different plates just dedicated to lobster. Good wine menu. It was my best dinning experience in Fortaleza.

Excellent food and services

I have been in this restaurant more than 6 time in two occasion(2011 and 2014). The quality of the services and food is outstanding, excellent wine list and services, I never had a complain. I consider this restaurant as one of the best in Fortaleza for any occasion.

The best french restaurant in Fortaleza

We went for Brazil's match at the 2014 World Cup and had only three nights in town. Marcel was one of the three suggestions. The haddock fish and the shrimps were excellent.

Tasty French Food

The atmosphere is classy and the service excellent. There is a good variety of French food and its well presented and tasty. Im French and I can say the food tasted French. There is a good selection of wines. The restaurant is pricey ..we paid usd 200 for two wine included. It was worth it though ..the food is lousy in many restaurants in Fortaleza.

THE BEST MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD IN THE WORLD!

Okay, you nee to know I am NOT kidding. I ordered the Uruguayan Lamb Filet and thought I died and went to heaven! At The Marriage Supper of the Lamb this is what they should serve. This place was incredible. I had to do a double take on the price. What a bargain for what you get! If you are anywhere near Fortaleza - stay at The Holiday Inn - and EAT HERE!!!

Good food, fair service, double check the bill

Marcel is a good classic french restaurant. Located in the Holiday Inn Fortaleza. You should expect a "bonne cuisine". Service is a little bit pushing, but acceptable. Carpaccios and Lobsters are the best options. The prices are slightly more expensive than other restaurants at the same category. However BEWARE of the bill. I went to this restaurant twice. The first time three extra bottles of water have been added to the final bill. I order only one bottle. The second time they added extra R$ 96 that I haven't ordered. By the way, always.
