Caxiri is located on the second floor, directly across from the iconic Opera House in downtown old city Manaus. The ambiance is pleasantly cultural and quiet enough for easy table conversation. Service was appropriately attentive and friendly. Wines are reasonably priced with selections available by...the glass. Our main dishes of lamb and fish were really good; excellently prepared and plated. Local river fish is terrific. We found the tembaqui particularly good, reminding us of black cod with its rich oily character. The fruit surprise dessert was also creative and delicious. If we are ever back in Manaus, we will certainly return to Caxiri.More

Phenomenal local gastronomy. Big local favorite. Considered tops in Manaus for international flare on local cuisine. Great service and caipis too.

The restaurant is located right next to the Teatro Amazonas - Manaus' famous Opera House, offering a spectacular view of the Opera House and the Square in front of It, now decorated for Christmas. But that is Just a bonus.... The food: the real highlight...of the Caxiri restaurant. Delícias, savoury, well dished UP and an amazing experience... The cuisine is a studied and caring approach to the traditional Amazon cuisine, using all the local ingredients, part of the indigenous heritage, but taken to a new level, with the knowledge of a studied and experienced Chef, producing outstanding dishes. Full of flavour, character and first grade ingredients, the plates are nicely dished and well served. A delight to look at, and even more so to relish. The specialties are the local fish dishes... Can't go wrong trying any of the dishes! A huge kudos to the Chef, and don't miss the opportunity If you are in Manaus to eat great local food with a spectacular view!More

Fantastic view of the Teatro Amazonas - get a window table if you can. Despite the location, the clientele seemed to be mostly locals. I think it's quite upmarket by Manaus standards. Very good service. A mixture of local dishes (my collagues had the grilled...fish) and more mainstream Brazilian (I had very good picanha). The mixed drinks looked good.More

This place is NOT to be missed, and Sandra’s service was amazing. Be sure to order the matrinxã fish (for two, but easily serves 3 or 4). I think this is the best fish I’ve tried in Manaus and pretty much anywhere. Also loved the...Manaus mule!More

Great food, atmosphere and service. The chef incorporated all local ingredients into a very clever menu. Our waiter Caio explained a lot about the local food and eating habits. He invited us to try new things which we are glad we did.

Fantastic dinner here tonight. Lovely setting, upstairs in an historic building across from the Theater. The food was exceptional, so many options we could return many times. My husband and I both had fish dishes, all the flavors are unique. Wine is offered by the...glass and the caipirinhas were super. Loved this restaurant!More

Caxiri was recommended to us and we’re so glad we went. On the second floor across from the Amazonas Theatre, it has a lovely light tropical ambience. Staff were very helpful & the English menu helped considerably. After 2 weeks of traditional Brazilian food it...was delightful to experience such creativity using traditional ingredients. To start we shared the Xibé tropical - Uarini flour, regional pineapple, grilled shrimp, jambu pesto and sweet and sour tucupi @ R$58- excellent! For main we shared the Local dish of pirarucu. de casaca nova- no bones, grilled salt fish with coconut milk, potatoes, rice with "jambu PANC" and Brazilian nuts @ R$160 - a casserole style dish which arrived the notified 40 minutes later and was very enjoyable. For Dessert we chose Tucupi surprise!" - ice cream, cubiu compote, caramelized Brazil nuts and black tucupi syrup from the Wapichana native peoples @ R$ 36 - delicious! Shame the bar tender was lazy and only halved the limes in the 4 Caipirinhas we had- they would have been so much better had they been segmented and the bitter Centre pith removed !!!!More

Excellent experience. A Brazilian friend recommended I visit this place while on a business trip. Did not dissapoint. I ordered the grilled supreme tambaqui fish and then the tapioca churros. Both items were delicious. I also tried the local beer brewed sarapò, tasted great (I...like light beer). Their service is outstanding. Would definitely come back.More
