We get to Las Velas at the top of Isla del Sol almost casually at sunset. The place had an amazing view, few people were around and we drank a beer looking at Lake Titicaca and sun going down. Then we had dinner inside. No electricity, just candle light, playing cards while waiting for a extremely tasty and good dinner... More

This place is so different to anywhere we've been before, no electricity, dinner by candlelight and delicious food. You should be patient as the food takes a while to come but it is worth the wait. Absolute gem!

We were staying for a night on Isla Del Sol and had heard this was the place to go. It was quite hard to find and is hidden away but was well worth the effort. The use of candles instead of lights really adds to the atmosphere. You had to wait for the food but the trout was amazing. Good... More

Having gotten a few tips about this place I was really excited to pay it a visit. We went just before sunset and turns lots of other people had the same idea. So the small restaurant was full within minutes. Teamed with the fact that since it was a Monday and the chef's partner was off, it was extremely impressive... More

The place is somewhat special. Located next to a forest at the top of the hill in the south of Isle del Sol. The food is prepared freshly and at the minute of ordering, Place consider this fact while planning your time. The time between ordering and eating (1.5-2h) can be spent by enjoying a nice view incl. the sunset... More

Travelling through South America can have complications... And on this day, we had experienced a few! Arriving finally to the Isla del Sol, climbing the seemingly endless way up to Las Velas was the last thing I wanted to do, and the best thing we could have done. Amazing sunset, amazing food, and then after dark.... amazing stars. Oh! And... More

Obviously this place has amazing reviews and was recommended on multiple blogs, so we gave it a try. The bottom line was, food was good (my boyfriend loved the baked trout and thought it was best he has had on the trip), but you might wanna give a thought on everything else. Firstly, this place is called "las velas" or... More
