Stopped by on my own for dinner; sat in the small friendly bar. Immediately I was greeted and service began. Staff is friendly, smiling and prompt. Had the spaghetti with meat sauce, a generous serving piping hot! Nice bread basket with assorted fresh choices. Overall a really good experience. If you're looking for good Italian food, good service in a... More

The occasion was the birthday of a friend--seven of us so we were seated in a back room with several other large groups. I was expecting a lot of noise, but it wasn't that bad considering that the entire restaurant was max'ed out busy on a Saturday night. Our host insisted that we order from the set priced menu which... More

There are so few good restaurants in Old Town, but A la Lucia stands out. The service is friendly, the restaurant is comfortable, and the food is very good. It's tasty and comforting. This is a neighborhood favorite.

Nice, comfortable place, with fast and friendly service both in English and Spanish, with a real good selection of Italian meals. Good sized portions, reasonable prices and even the restrooms are very special. Well decorated and very clean.

The restaurant was close to our hotel. The food was excellent & the service was great. It has a small intimate feel. We had the spaghetti & filet steak & a bottle of wine.

We love this restaurant when we visit Alexandria. The restaurant is elegant yet casual. This time we were a foursome, with my spouse and me showing up early while the other couple was running 20 minutes late and the wait staff could not have been more understanding. While the standard menu appears limited, they always have a host of special... More

We went to A la Lucia after attending a matinee at the Little Theater of Alexandria. This restaurant is a gem. The wait staff is attentive and personable and the food is delicious. I have not been able to find a good Italian restaurant in years but I think I finally succeeded. Our salads included the Caesar and the fresh... More

We ate the night of the inauguration and the service was great, the place was crowded and the food good. The bruschetta served in advance was really good and my husband had the anti pasta with anchovies and he loved it. His spaghetti was delicious and my spicy sausage was really spicy ( almost too spicy and I never say... More

We chose the restaurant due to its convenient location (we wanted pre-theater dining near MetroStage), but were delighted to find very good food, obliging service, and a moderate noise level conducive to quiet conversation. The menu emphasizes traditional Italian items -- the kitchen executes them very well, and they are far from boring, due to quality ingredients and rich, flavorful... More

A la Lucia is basically a traditional Italian restaurant, but it's a place where everyone will feel welcome. The food is outstanding and the service is friendly and competent. The front room is a bit dark, but the next room is bright and cheery. We ordered the three-course meal, and the appetizers, main dishes, and desserts were all delicious. Especially... More
