After wandering the streets on a chilly evening, we stopped in for a cup of tea/coffee and were charmed by the eclectic mix of people, drinks (they serve alcohol as well as coffee/tea) and nibbles -- like the smores you can make at your table. Like so many places in Austin, Halcyon provides good food/drink in a welcoming and truly... More

This is a great coffee shop by day and you can get small bites and alcohol at night. Staff has always been great and the place is always packed. Be able to stay focused if you're planning to go here and work though. Its on a corner space with lots of people so distractions are plenty.

Great cafe with nice couches. A good place to drink some coffee and relax. I had a chair latte answer it was great. My husband got a frappe and said it wasn't quite as good as the ones he gets in Astoria (ours back home are stronger) but that it was still good. My dad, stepmother and sister all shared... More

The coffee and the flat bread pizzas are really good. When we arrived, it was around 9-10 pm, and the place was full of students who probably were all on holiday break. It took a while to get a seat, even though there was a place that easily could've sat three parties that two girls had decided to camp out... More

went here for a quick sunday brunch. The two female baristas were great, informative. vietnamese coffee was great. we ordered 2 brunch items that were essentially bread with eggs. the place had about 15 people in it when we ordered, saw 3 orders ahead of us, we waited for 45 mins, and could tell the kitchen was under pressure as... We turned up for a mid morning coffee and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The temperature and the atmosphere was cold and pretty unwelcoming. I can understand that with 50 people in the place then it's got a vibe but if you just come along for a coffee and a snack mid morning then there are many,... More

I had a couple of hours to kill before a shuttle to the airport and decided to check this place out as it looked like a cool local joint and was not a Starbucks. This is the kind place I wish I had at home back -- a nice laid-back vibe, friendly baristas, a number of tables with comfortable chairs,... More

My girlfriends and I ran inside after getting off the bus in a downpour. Great decision. It was packed with people in the middle of the afternoon. You can have coffee or drinks. I chose both, getting a hot Irish coffee to help nurse an oncoming sore throat. Bartender was funny and friendly, he was really nice to an old... More

I came here with a coworker when we were in town for a conference. We were looking for a place to sit and catch up on email. This place was perfect! The staff is very friendly! There is free wifi and lots of couches and chairs to hang out on. I got a tai rice tea and it was very... More

I was meeting a friend for coffee, so we selected Halcyon. Great coffee shop with a breakfast menu as well. Tables are comfortable and the noise level is relatively low so it was the perfect place to relax and catch up. Highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood.
