Good variety of dishes in the menu. My chili rellenos were great. We had a good variety of good on the table and all dishes were fully eaten. Excellent service that was prompt and friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. Good salsa.

They specialize in real Mexican interior cuisine Try the Cochinita Pibil or the Pollo Pipian Verde -- they are both delicious representations of interior-style Mexican cooking. There are some TexMex selections on the menu as well - the fajitas and tacos al carbon are both reliable. Courteous and friendly service in a very relaxed atmosphere. Great margaritas too.

I think I am in trouble when I walk into a restaurant and there is no one there. That is what it was like last night, a Sunday. The waitress was friendly, and attentive. The chips and hot sauce delicious. The drinks, a frozen margarita, great. The cheese enchiladas were terrific. Each person at the table loved their meal. Was... More

Sazon has, without a doubt, the best breakfast tacos in all of Austin. The bacon, egg, and cheese is the best deal and most filling in town. Also, their salsa routinely wins awards.

I took a client into Sazon about a month ago, spending over $200 there. As I was squeezing by the narrow space between the bar and the wall, my shirt snagged on the wall texturing and ripped. Margarito, the owner offered to have the shirt fixed. I thought that was really nice (and appropriate) so, the next day, I drove... More

We had a great dinner at Sazon recently, sitting outside by Lamar (traffic was a bit loud). The decor is pretty bare-bones, but the service was excellent - attentive without being intrusive. We had delicious starters, a creamy corn soup and the bean sopecitos, followed by enchiladas verde, chicken mole and cochinita pibil. My husband said the mole was some... More

As per my wont, I tried this place out for breakfast today. The bad thing was they had a very limited menu compared to most of the other Mexican restaurants I've frequented. I didn't ask for clarifications, so maybe they might have had options that weren't printed. But I didn't see much of anything more exotic than bacon, sausage, potatoes,... More

A plain and simple Mexican restaurant with very good eats. No it is not fancy but the food is plentiful and reasonably priced. There are other places in Austin with much fancier décor fashionably made to look worn that will charge much more for average food. But this place is the real deal. We had a waitress who let us... My 20 something son loves the soups, my husband likes the moles, I like the Chile Relleno en Nogado, we all like the prices. There is a wider selection here than at many small Mexican places and several of the soups are particularly good. The Mole is nicely done. The three of us had plenty to eat and a drink... More

We eat here often when in Austin as we enjoy the food and the margaritas at very reasonable prices. Don't expect fancy decor. It's really basic but good service with friendly owners and staff. Parking is limited but we've never failed to find a spot in their lot or very close by.
