we had breakfast here and it was really good. their Parisian baguette was outstanding and their quiche was very delicious. our 1 year old really enjoyed the Belgian Waffles. at the end of our breakfast we asked our server if we can buy a baguette and he was very nice to say yes. we had to wait 5 mins since the baguette were in the oven, which made the experience event better. we will definitely go back and recommend to our friends.

We had brunch here and found it refreshing to go to a coffee shop similar to what we are used to eating back home in South Africa. I liked the choice of open sandwiches and only fresh ingredients were used. It was quite busy when we got there and had a nice busy vibe to it. We found it a little expensive but also taking into consideration the type of ingredients used.

Delicious and hearty. I want to say that I first went to Blue Dahlia when it was a little shop in East Austin. Could that be right? All I remember was a menu that was a throw back to early Austin for me. The early 80's and when Whole Foods was reminding us that Tofu wasn't just for hippies and you could grab your grains out of a bin on Lamar Blvd. I had noshed there a few times and then life moved on. I was invited to eat here with a colleague and was curious as to what had happened in the years since I last had a meal at the Dahlia. East Austin to Westlake Hills is quite a change, but as soon as I entered, I felt the warmth of the days gone by. A nice snug, bustling bistro for sure. I met my friends and ordered up the Black Bean salad with a scoop of Egg Salad. Curious wierd right? I had a hankering for some different stuff. Other's order the Coq au Vin Blanc and the Tuna Salad. My salad arrived and it was on a huge plate, full of veggie goodness and bright yellow scoop of Egg Salad. The Egg Salad and Beans went quite well. I also liked that the dressing was served on the side, since I didn't really need it and the avocado, tomato and corn blended well together. I didn't scarf the entire salad, I was doing a lot of talking so I boxed up the remains and brought them home to a very gratefull wifey poo. Service was very good, attentive and let us visit and talk and not get in the way. The only curious item was when asked if I wanted to take the rest of my salad to go, I was provided a to go box, rather then having put into a box for me. A tad clumsy, but by no means a big issue at all. I did manage to get everything into the box without leaving half of it on the table. I cannot judge price point anymore, but if you feel $18.50 for a hearty, with an add on Egg Salad expensive, then there's that. There were all the beautiful people serving and working there and the clientele is very much Westlake along with an impossibly difficult parking lot at 1pm on a Wednesday. I was able to find a spot, but with SUV world out there and ok, I also drive Infiniti QX70, made the spots skinnier then one would think. Is it worth the hassle? Yes, I would give it a total thumbs up!

I’ve been going to this cafe for many years and am always happy with the food and service. The Westlake location has also kept competent long-time employees, which says a lot to me about the owner. I recommend the egg salad sandwich, the goat cheese salad, and the brie sandwich for those who are GF.

Love this place, food is always good and the mimosas are yummy. The tartines are wonderful - the egg salad and chicken salad are our favorites. If you're lucky they have frittata, they often run out it's so popular. Generally busy and bustles, we love it.

Blue Dahlia is a neighborhood treasure, the menu is a delight for vegetarians (and others), the soups are hearty and full of flavor - not always the case with vegetarian dishes. I ate outside for lunch - no heaters but I had a coat and scarf - but outside patio table placement appears to have not changed at all since the pandemic. The tables are TOO CLOSE together. A table of laughing talking guests is a table I don't want to sit near. It's like leaving a space in traffic - if you do, someone is going to hop in the "open" spot and you no longer have that buffer space. So, Blue Dahlia, please don't leave your customers at the mercy of other customers' good manners - all it takes is one to spoil it. Like today. I ended up moving all my dishes to another table when two women sat less than 4 feet from me. I probably won't be back until things change - and I hope that is soon.

The main dining area is extremely loud. The back room is a little quieter. Most of the menu items are open faced sandwiches, which we all found to be challenging to eat without all the toppings falling off.

A warm smile, welcoming atmosphere and sincerity are the essence of hospitality. Sadly none were present when we dined at the BD the other night. The staff must have had a bad day. The country French inspired food is good, creative and lovely variety. They close at 4 on Monday! Happy Hour 3-6:30 Tue-Fri is the best time to come. $5 for a glass of wine is about right. Want to give higher rating but staff with attitude gets to me.

I picked up a "too go" Goat Cheese Salad for my daughter earlier this week and with tax it was $12.45, which is a lot for a salad. As the salad got consumed I heard complaints of "not much Goat Cheese" to "there's some wilted lettuce". This was our second disappointing experience here.

This is quite a disappointing venue. Pity because it has all the ingredients for being exciting and warm. I must have got it on an off day- surely, because I heard such good things? I was surprised when I arrived. Maybe the standard in the area is low, or maybe there isn’t much choice and people don’t get out much! I have literally been all over the world. And this is as far from a European coffee shop as it gets. It was cold, boring.... metallic almost. Very plain. Grey and lacking in the classiness the Europeans pride themselves on. Outdoor seating was a tight squeeze and overlooking a parking lot. Very awkward. Staff seemed harassed. Bar was small and a bit too intimate with the kitchen. I had an open sandwich. It was fine, a bit pricey for what I got. All in all I wouldn’t go back. Take your lunch somewhere else. Probably nice for a corporate meeting but lacks feeling.

I’m reluctant to rave about this place like I should because I don’t want it to become too popular! My family insists we make Blue Dahlia one of our frequent dining places. You can get breakfast items all day. The open face sandwiches are darling and delicious. Soups and salads are fresh. Decent wine and beer choices, iced teas, or get a foo-foo coffee espresso drink. I had the homemade meatloaf entree and loved it. Weather permitting, there’s a lovely outdoor patio too. Service was outstanding and restrooms were uncommonly clean. Published hours might show they are open until 10pm or 11pm, but if you’re going for dinner call first and make sure they aren’t on summer hours (close at 7pm). Enjoy this hidden gem!

Ate lunch at Blue Dahlia today... order the Tuna Salad - within 25minutes of leaving I had terrible stomach cramps; nausea; and diarrhea. I called to warn I had the Tuna Salad of and food poisoning symptoms as to alert the restaurant. The owner answered and told me that she herself had tested everything in the morning...and I probably had the flu or a stomach virus. I highlighted what I experienced about 25 minutes after leaving her restaurant…. I hung up as she was so defensive and ignorant about food poisoning - it was insulting. After this passed thru my body and having to lay down for an hour – no more symptoms. Congratulations on losing customers because of your response to these symptoms of food poisoning due to ingesting The Blue Dahlia Bistro Tuna Salad.

We often eat lunch here, and occasionally happy hour. We enjoy the lovely patio and the tartness are great. The food is always fresh and they have a decent wine list. The meat and cheese board are good. Inside is a bit noisy if it is full, but the patio is delightful.

A mid-afternoon break from shopping at Breed & Co on Bee Caves Rd led me to The Blue Dahlia just around the corner of the building. The strawberry and cream croissant I had was the last one in the building and still wonderful! Excellent tea. Nice staff. Cool bathroom stall locks and sink! Definitely recommend!

Nice, local French style bistro. Had a really nice, early Mother's Day lunch there the other day. Had seen the place before but never got around to trying it. It's a casual cafe, we had a very nice young waitress who was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. The open face turkey and ham sandwiches we had were really nice although the whole wheat bread was nothing special. Coffee in very large cups was nice. Desserts were quite good too (poached pears and Creme Brulee). We'll definitely go back.
