My food was good and I appreciated that they had a gluten free menu and options. It took a while to get my meal even though they weren't super busy and the wait staff was so-so. Atmosphere was cozy, it's an old house converted to...More

We ended our visit to the LBJ Presidential Library just before lunch. We asked the attendants and the guard for a lunch recommendation that was close. The Eastside Cafe was the unanimous recommendation. There we six of us for lunch, but we only had to...More

We went here for a family birthday celebration. The menu has a wide variety of choices, literally something for every taste. I had the pulled pork enchiladas, and my wife had a chicken club sandwich. The portions were generous, and the food was beautifully prepared....More

I recently ate at the Eastside Cafe on a trip to Austin. What a delight! The restaurant is in an old, former house—a bungalow, actually. Each little room has just the right amount of tables for a quiet meal where you can chat with your...More

I think I've always eaten brunch at Eastside Cafe, don't know why, but why change a good thing! Their blueberry blintzes are the best I've had, and the best part of any of their tex-mex offerings is the homemade salsa.

This restaurant is in an old house, so there are only a few tables in each room, which makes it feel intimate. The waitress was friendly and made good recommendations. The vegetarian manicotti was very good, as was the wine.

I met some family here for lunch, and it was delicious. I ordered catfish, broccoli, and Mac and cheese. They were all very good. If you go there, you have to try the buttermilk pie! It is amazing! This Yankee has never had it before,...More

This was one of our go-to fancy and charming spots back in my 90s college days before "garden-to-table" was even a "thing." With fond memories, my college roommate and i returned for a Saturday night dinner with our wives. The place was practically empty. What...More

Sorry for the delay. I think there is but surprisingly there aren't many kids that dine here with parents.
