Our family had lunch here on a Friday and the place was packed. The overall experience was horrible. The guy who’s supposed to seat you was clueless, our waitress wasn’t very good, our food took over an hour, they were out of several food items,...More

This place is the real deal. We had schnitzel, potato salad, and red cabbage. All home made and just as we remembered it from when we were stationed in Germany. I couldn't resist ordering the giant pretzel. Yep, tasted just like the street vendors' in...More

Scholz Garten is a treasure oozing character from the moment you see the huge original 1866 bar as you walk in the front door. The Jagerschnitzel and the pulled pork were great as well as the fantastic selection of beers with the Celis White draughts...More

Yes, it is the oldest serving bar in Austin. Yes, the beer is gold and there are a lot of domestic and foreign choices. However, the food quality had gown way down since a change in ownership. No more bbq nor bbq plates.

It's always hard to find authentic German food anywhere in the USA; we were really suprised to find it in Texas. Schnitzel, Spatzel, and Rotkohl were great. Beer was also sehr gut.

Nice pre game outdoor venue. Good beer and food selection. Had a wonderful time that was close to the stadium and parking.

With the large German immigrant population in central Texas we were sure that we would be happy with the fare at the Scholz Garten. However, we were wrong. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and found an expensive all-you-can eat offering with few options for...More
