Absolutely delicious food. From the appetizers to the sushi to the dessert. Yummy. Only item I'd not order again are the shishito peppers. They were a bit tough (I grow them, so I know them).

It was another wonderful visit to Uchi. This visit we had Black Bream, John Dory, Kingfish, Hamachi Chili, Japanese Sea Bream, Flounder Fin, Amberjack, Shrimp Tempura and Hot Rock. Each dish was off the charts. Every time we come, there is a slight different spin to the choices--love it. Looking forward to our next visit. I appreciate the knowledge the... More
It's been a while but I remember the times I've had at Uchi fondly. The food is always inventive but incredibly tasty. Most of the time we're celebrating something when we go here. Once we took our entire business crew to celebrate. There was something everyone could eat and with the help of our extremely knowledgeable wait person, some of... More
Our favorite restaurant in Austin. We go at 5:00 when they open because the reservations are full for weeks out, If you get there when they open you can be seated and try the happy hour menu.
We sat at the bar, as that was recommended for the best service and selection. $200+ for two people, and service was lacking. Our chef seemed to have our needs on a low priority.
Great place to share foods with family and friends. This is an amazing experience for a foodie. The flavor profiles are delicious. Definitely a must do in Austin. Although you will have to go by 4:30pm in order to get to eat there. It books months in advance.
Uchi and Uchiko are my all time favorite Sushi restaurants in Austin. The atmosphere, staff and menu, find a way of invigorating every sense, while intoxicating pairings of flavors, that tantalize your taste buds! The Brussel sprouts and Yo Kai berry allure your palate with addictive hints that leave you with the desire to return for more.
Uchi is always our first choice for a special occasion, but its not always so easy to get it. Making a booking a month in advance is the only way I know how to get in at the time you want unless you dont mind waiting. Otherwise every part of the Uchi experience is exceptional... the food, the ambiance, the... More
Don't expect a traditional sushi restaurant experience when coming here. There's no pickled ginger or wasabi to be found on your plates. Each piece of fish is dressed with their own special sauce or preparation to best bring out the flavors of the fish. So the effect is more modern and experimental rather than traditional. But none of the fish... More
With our great server's (Julia) help, we chose the six course tasting menu, combining many of Uchi's patrons' favorites. We were told it would be $99, which we though would be per person and, when the bill arrived, we saw only one charge for $99. We thought a mistake had been made, but Julie said it was for both of...
