On a recent business trip I stayed with a good friend I worked with a decade ago. She suggested Uchiko. I cannot say enough good things about the many food "experiences" we tasted. The beets were heavenly. So good, you hold the food in your mouth a while and savor the unusual blend of flavors. She suggested the Brussels sprouts... More

GREAT happy hour specials, always busy so make a reservation, get there at opening or be prepared to wait. The shag roll is by far the best. Red happy hour wine is good and the hot rock is a must!

One of three (the other two are in Dallas and Huston) this a large and somewhat noisy popular sushi restaurant. There is a fresh fish of the day list to supplement the a la carte menu. The food is fabulous and full of flavour. Very helpful waiter to guide us through the menu and describe the good list of saki.... More

This is a large and elegant restaurant located in an affluent area a few miles from downtown. The place was packed on a regular Monday night and early reservations are a must. It is part of a chain and this may be the reason for the availability of the fresher fish from many parts of the world. The decor is... More

Have eaten here twice and both times had a super meal. Same ownership as Uchi but a bit more casual. The sushi is divine and service terrific. It is not inexpensive but if you are in the market for a delicious Japanese food experience I strongly recommend this.

Having gone to Uchi several times I think Uchiko is just as good. I personally love the room better than Uchi. We did the 10 course Omakase and it was amazing. Next day, we sat at the sushi bar. Sushi chef was very knowledgeable and creative. A must go when your in Austin.

Been here with colleagues a couple of times. Quality of the food/fish is honestly very high and well cooked. Personally I prefer authentic Japanese cuisine to cool posh sushi and prices are just crazy high.

My friend and I came a little later, closer to closing on a Thursday night, but were still greeted warmly. Could figured out what we wanted to have, do we decided to get the 10 course meal (which is for 2 people). I have to say, I was happily surprised by what was offered. We asked for specific things not... More
