... but more noodles needed! The food was superb, yet service was spotty. Our order was first sent to the wrong table and my friends ask for little scallions resulted in the usual amount. Some toppings were forgotten in my order. Ts ts ts...

I love this place! Generally go for the Mi So Hot or the Original and add in brussel sprout. Although there is often a line, it moves pretty quick and you almost never wait more than 5 minutes once you order. One of the bright spots on S. Lamar!

To visitors of Austin, Ramen Tatsu-ya is a hidden gem. The Ramen Tatsu-ya in south Austin on Lamar Boulevard looks quite deceiving from the outside, but has a very nice interior. The restaurant serves very good Japanese sodas, and the food is excellent. Very rich broth with many ramen bowls to choose from. Food usually comes very quick and the restaurant has decent prices. I’d highly recommend this restaurant.

While the food was 'OK', not too bad for the two stars, I did not appreciate the lack of service. I understand and appreciate the contactless ordering process, however, I was very disappointed that I didn't get enough help from the servers to place my order, they didn't seem interested in answering my questions, I received more help from the hostess. But I was even more disappointed that after waiting with my family (including 2 small children) to be seated at 8:45pm (our own fault for being late), and that since the only sitting available was outside on a 62ºF weather, when I asked for one of the space heaters they had, the waiter looked at me as if I was crazy, and told me they were not going to set them up today. What I regret the most is tipping ahead of time.

My daughter and I went to a local ramen place in Austin, Ramen Tasu-ya for ramen. There were a lot of people there and seating was limited. You entered the restaurant, went through a lime to order you food, and waited for them to call your name. In the meantime, you looked for a table to sit at. I’m not sure what I had, but it was good.

I had never had real ramen before but this place was recommended by our Lyft driver. It was a chilly, rainy day and ramen sounded perfect! I ordered the number 1 with Brussels sprouts. It was delicious and the Brussels really added to the flavor of the broth. It was busy when we were there with a line out the door, but they were very organized about it and the service was fast. Overall, I would return the next time I’m in Austin.

This restaurant is the definition of a hidden gem, upon arriving with my impatient but still cool family of five, I was astonished to see that they had a large menu, additional toppings, and most of all, a stunning interior. The food was delicious, and very filling. Even though this is not the cheapest ramen restaurant in Austin, I do most definitely recommend!

I'm writing this about the 8610 S. Congress location, which isn't listed. This place just sucks! I've ordered to-go a few times because it's a convenient location. Never again. After placing an order at 5:40 for 6:20 pickup, I get notified AFTER I place the order that it'll be ready at 7:30. No way to contact the restaurant, as they don't have a published phone number. On Toast their number is listed as 512 123-4567! Thanks for being so customer service friendly. NOT!

Got the NOT miso bowl, hubby got the original, and got my son the kids ramen. The kids ramen at $7.50 is ridiculous. It’s about a 3/4 cup of noodles and a cup of broth. Not worth it. The noodles were tough as well. Our ramen was ok, the flavors were simple and underwhelming.

Brought by a friend ..and wow a whole new world.. so you just have your whole party present or u won’t be seated , review menu in advance.. have to order and pay to sit, no reservations, it’s a play on pho but more of a aged pork darker base with noodles and a little veg , adjust your heat, minus the egg imo … Brussels app great.. fast, fun and delicious . I like me so not .. but my fam likes me so hot or OG . I take some home and eat it tomorrow. Super interesting and delicious !! Must try.

It was a good to the last slurp type of meal. Had the number one, recommended for first timers. I’ve had Ramen a few times, and this goes to the top of the list.

I’ve been to quite a few ramen places during my travels and this is one of the best places I’ve been to! Really enjoyed the Miso Hot!

Sadly, I'm changing this to a 2-Stars. Although the quality of the to-go only food is still great, it's VERY difficult to order it. The last three orders, made on an iPhone Xr were really a hassle. Who ever owns this restaurant should try to place an order with a smart phone as a guest. You'd probably consider changing the method for ordering after that. I'm not a technophobe. I have a Mac and PC, iPhone and Android phone. I'm online all day and work on my company website all the time. I asked the young woman ahead of me when I picked up my order (which I came within an inch of not bothering with) whether she'd had a problem and she did. So it's not just me. Fix the way you take online orders please. Original 5-Star Rating: This place is the first place I ever had Ramen (at the old location). You had to be prepared to wait, but the wait was worth it. There's also a North location that I've been to as well. They moved the South location a while ago to a larger place with better parking. If you come during regular hours you should be prepared to wait though. Ramen is a bowl of noodles and other things in broth. The broth is key. The pork bone broth at this place is out of this world. Just fabulous. On my last visit I had ground pork with various veggies in my Ramen. The richness of the broth made this an extremely memorable meal. Tasty, filling and quite reasonable. I enjoy the Ramen at Tatsu-Ya even more than the Ramen we had in Tokyo 2 years ago. Well worth a visit!

The place is cute and they're working on a mural outside. Casual atmosphere and no worries about going to eat alone. You order in the front, get seated, and then food is brought out. I ordered the veggie ramen added garlic and spicy bomb, spicy edamame, and sparkling Thai basil limeade. The items came out super quick. The spicy edamame was tossed in spice instead of a wet sauce. The Thai basil limeades was quite refreshing. The veggie ramen came out in a heaping bowl. The garlic addition came as a clove of garlic with a garlic press. The spicy bomb comes separately as bombs do. The broth was light. The noodles were regular ramen noodles to me. The brussel sprouts in the ramen were good except it was a bit oily. Adding the spicy bomb to it definitely makes it so much better. I was a bit disappointed that I could not add bean sprouts to my ramen since it is made with lard. I wouldn't have minded some blanched bean sprouts, but I guess they don't have fresh ones. I still enjoyed this ramen and was full halfway through but my greedy self finished the whole bowl anyways. Overall if you're looking for a good ramen to fill you up but not leave you feeling guilty afterwards then definitely give this a shot. Definitely give this vegan ramen a try!
