It’s Cajun in Arlington... while a little less than edgy, still excellent (especially for the price). Red Claw is a boil in a bucket with a plastic tablecloth kind of place. We “started” with a dozen blue points (LOVE the fact they have fresh cold water oysters, so much better than the muddy gulf variety so common to southern establishments). Concerning the boil - The recommended garlic/Cajun blend sauce was good but certainly not New Orleans BBQ standard - much richer, thicker, and more luxurious! It was great ... until you got near your limit, then it became more than a bit overwhelming. My only real complaint was that the oysters showed up about 15 min after the boil... come on guys, you need to hire a new expediter and get your crap in order.

Great lil seafood place!

My husband and I ate here last night. It was very good. He had the Nashville chicken sandwich. He started to order it hot because he likes it spicy and the waitress suggested he do the regular sauce as the spicy was very hot. Great advice as my husband said it was the perfect amount of kick. I had the catfish basket with parmesan fries. The catfish was sool yummy. Delish and not fishy tasting at all. We've added this to our list of places to frequent.

Outstanding crab dinner

Great food. Outstanding size portions. Served quickly. Dungeoness crab was fantastic and the calamari tasted great. Crowded when we arrived but still separated nicely for covid purposes. Would definitely go back again

Don't get takeout shrimp....over cooked rubber.

I love eating IN at this place BUT, I will never order takeout again. When you order online [they don't answer their phone] you get a text almost immediately that your order in ready. It takes 10 mins to get there and when I get I get a [still cooking] Hot bag of shrimp. By the time I get home the shrimp are way over cooked and thus hard to peel, rubbery and grainy shrimp. A small scoop of ice, in the bag would arrest the cooking process and keep the shrimp edible but when I asked, I was told "we don't do that". So, eat-in= delicious and take-home= Terrible.

I was in Arlington for a class they were close so 8 decided to try them. I was not very hungry so u ordered the Calamari. It came hot and fresh. The batter was tasty but the Calamari itself was chewy, almost inedible and very greasey. The dipping sauces were very watered down. Since they seemed busy I can probably assume people were not coming for the Calamari. This was a one and only for sure . I can't see the reviews being so positive. I must have ordered the wrong thing

First of all I met the owner when I was there. He was very nice. Next, this place never fails!!!!! The shrimp, the spice, and service are on POINT!!!!! Side note: the drinks are NICE also!!! This is my SPOT!!!!!!!

Spent $100 on a unseason crab boil. Shrimp were disgusting and had a bad taste. Literally me and my daughter trashed the bag. Will not return.

The best seafood I have tasted outside of Maryland and Boston. It is a little costly, however you get your money's worth. The service is good also.

Oysters are awful

This is the first time I have eaten at a cajun restaurant where I absolutely could not finish my oysters. Almost tasted like iodine & they served them with limes. YUK. The crawfish were small & their chicken wings are not breaded. So disappointed and couldn't believe the place was crowded. Shrimp were good. I would recommend just ordering the shrimp but no oysters!!! Will not go back and sorry we wasted $50 on a bad lunch. Too expensive & terrible.

Flavor on point!!

Outside of New Orleans, this is probably some of the best crawfish I've had. With that being said, it is very expensive!! I ordered the #1 combo, which came with 1lb of crawfish and 1lb of shrimp. I added 1 additional pound of crawfish and that alone was $35+ dollars. If you don't mind spending the money, the food is delicious. The flavor I order was called "RC Kick" in either really hot or extreme hot spice level. I also ordered the Cadillac Margarita. It was strong and tasty.

This place was very delicious. The seasoning was great but I would ask that they add double seasoning so it marinates a little bit more. The shrimp and king crab legs were AMAZING! They provide all the supplies you need before you begin to eat. The wait isn’t long compared to other places in the metroplex and same great service. I recommend wearing comfortable clothes and something that isn’t white in case sauce goes flying! Will be going there again soon!

We were over from England on a road trip to Deep South America! The one thing I wanted to do was visit a crab shack....Rick stein was in one on one of his programmes! We googled top ten crab shacks and luckily we were near one of them......my husband didn't realise what it would be like, it was bustling, busy, friendly, amazing! They said there is usually a three hour wait but luckily we were at the bar and the customers said there are two empty chairs, sit there and you will get served! We a talked to the locals and bar staff who recommended our choice which was shrimps (king prawns) crawfish and crab, corn and sausage. They put a plastic sheet on the bar and gave us plastic aprons and bucket for all the shell fish remains. What an experience! would recommend to anyone but don't wear anything white which I did, so messy! Everyone was so helpful and friendly, we asked the waitress if they had Internet access as we needed to contact uber for a taxi and they did a hotspot on their own phones so we could order one! Amazing well worth a visit......it's an experience!

My favorite seafood experience happens here!

So your great niece turns 14 and loves Crawfish! What better way to make her happy than an after school meal at Red Claws Crab Shack in Arlington. I love this place for the atmosphere, service, happy hour drinks and ESPECIALLY the Fresh Seafood! Bucket#7 was the selection this day: Three pounds of Crawfish perfectly season along with 4 Snow Crab legs clusters, 1 lb of black mussels and 2 lbs of head on shrimp with corn on the cob and sausage well seasoned with the RC Kick flavoring (it’s a combination of Lemon Pepper, Garlic and Cajun) and you are in Heaven. It comes in a plastic bag placed in the center of the table to share (get your gloves and bibs from the waiter plus they provide a bucket for the discarded skeletons and shells). This is no fork and knife meal, you get to use your hands. Oh and I almost forgot one of my favorite add on sides Garlic Noodles (there will be no kissing after eating these noodles, LOL). Next step, seeing how fast you can eat and who has the best crawfish eating technique. I pinch off the tail, squeeze out the tail meat and sometimes suck the head to get that spicy juice as a last kick before discarding it! My great niece ate only crawfish but I had to sample it all as did her dad. You will not be disappointed and for those trying to observe Lent properly you have many great choices of amazing seafood whether, you want it raw, boiled, sautéed, grilled or fried. If you like fish it’s here, raw oysters it’s here or if you are not into seafood at all but your favorite date is a seafood lover you can come hangout too, they have veggies, chicken wings, noodles, fried rice plus Mac and Cheese. They also have kid favorites too. So it’s a family affair. If you just happen to get away from work to have lunch, they open at noon and yes they have a happy hour with food & drinks available (try the swirl (Margarita & Hurricane frozen drink). Lastly, if you like to be footloose & fancy free when you eat your crawfish, Red Claws Crab Shaw is the place for you with it’s totally casual atmosphere!
