we did the Big Texan, knowing it was very touristy but we had a blast, The steak was good, not great. But the atmosphere was worth the trip.

On our Route66 trip we overnight in Amarillo so a visit to this emblematic place is a must. If you want to taste 72oz steak with all sides... not to pay if you eat all... that is the place!!! Funny attractions on the side, nice...More

Visited on a Monday evening at 630. The restaurant was about half full, and the server said that many regulars like it more when it’s packed. Dining room decoration was Texas Tacky which is the whole point. Also a raised table with big digital timers...More

If you want a cliche Texas steak experience this is the place. There are much better steaks at other places. But that’s not why you come here. You bring your friends from out of state to show them the 72 ounce steak and walk around....More

I know they use to take reservations! If you're looking for a tourist visit, this is it. Living in the area for years we have had visitors beg to see this place. It's always hit and miss on the food and service. Texas Road... More

Our kitchen stays open until 10:30pm so if you walk in at 10:29pm we will gladly stay open later to serve you!

We do not take dinner reservations, since we are first come - first serve! We hope all of our guests never have to wait too long. We also have plenty of things to see while you wait including, our gift shop shooting gallery... More
