When I asked my innkeeper who offers cooked to order breakfast, Penny’s was the closest choice. I’ve seen this place since it was built open and close and open. It’s one of those stainless steel tractor-trailer sized diners, not common in Texas, with mostly counter seating and a tiny few booths. I went on over there and I first noticed... More

The food & the ambiance at Penny's Diner in Yuma, Arizona is much better. They are open 24 hours & in a small town like Alpine this is good.

We tried to eat here late at night but they were closed. The phone number is actually hotel next door. They are not a 24 hour place as they advertise.

Good grief! We sat at the counter of this cute diner. The other end of the counter needed to be cleaned but there was only one waitress working. It wasn't crowded. It was fun to be able to sit there and watch the cook prepare our food. The problem was, he had a dip of snuff in his mouth and... More

Drove in late to see the Marfa lights, this place is open 24hrs and looks like a old 50s diner, so we went in for a late dinner. I ordered the Chicken fried steak came with a side salad and mashed potatoes with gravy and corn. I was so hungry I ate my salad In which I don't care for... More

Wife and I ate here after traveling all day to get to Alpine. The restaurant was right next to the hotel, so we just walked over. The food was very good and the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend for a nice sandwich place.

The hamburger hot off of the grill had my mouth watering before it even got to my plate. Great burger and fries. The diner is small, but you can eat on the patio out back.

While in Alpine for a few days we happened upon this old time diner. 49's décor.. Food was average but it was a good enough place to suggest that if in the area why not give it a try..

We stopped in because it looked so cute from the outside and I had never eaten in a diner before. The staff weren't very friendly and didn't really pay attention to us when we walked in. We kind of felt unwelcome, but we found a seat at the counter and sat down. We just had burgers and fries and sweet... More

Visited Penny's on recommendation of our hotel. It's a real old fashioned diner as you see in the movies, complete with sixties interior. That being said, upon entering there were about 10 clients in the diner, and a lot of tables were empty, most of them not yet cleaned and it would take another 15 minutes or more to clean... More
