The French onion soup is almost as good as it was when David ran the kitchen at Chateaulin (gone now). The crab cakes were the size of ping pong balls, not what I was expecting. The service however was great. Knowledgeable, helpful, thoughtful and friendly. The menu is modern and the decor is comfortable. It just isn't what I'm looking... More

Dear Linda, We are very fortunate to have Executive Chef David Taub at the helm. As co-owner of Chateaulin for over 30 years he set the standard by which all Ashland restaurants were measured. I realize that it is impossible for a restaurant to be everyone's cup of tea and I appreciate you dining with us. Thank you for your... More

Scallops were the special-perfecrly prepared and seasoned. My date had pork cheeks-tender and flavorful. Don't miss this boutique restaurant.

The waiters were attentive and lovely, and very knowledgeable. I have dietary restrictions that often make things difficult, and they worked around them happily and without judgement. The food was truly exceptional. The whole experience was incredibly delicious. In short it was absolutely everything a night out should be!

We had a nice meal before Twelfth Night. It's a short drive from the Shakespeare Festival. The food was good, although they had run out of their best salad by 6pm, so that was weird. It was probably a bit more expensive than i would have expected, and the service was kind of in-and-out of focus, so we had to... More

I came here with my husband and two other couples. We sat in the outdoor space, a roomy, very pleasant spot with tables looking out over the back lawn. I started with a cold corn and lobster soup- delicious- and my husband had lobster potato skins that were very rich but very tasty. For my main I opted for the... More

Ashland is home to many wonderful restaurants, but the Peerless is one we keep going back to, in part because we regularly stay at the adjacent Peerless Hotel, but mostly because they have a talented chef and kitchen staff. The food is, on the whole, original, skewed to fresh and local, and always delicious. The menus during our recent visits... More

What a lovely spot to prepare for a play in Ashland! We were settled in the garden area. The waitstaff was so personal! My new best friend (our water) agreed that the margaritas were good....they were actually perfect. Made from scratch, of course. The sweet corn soup with lobster salad was sublime, subtle flavors worthy of the presentation. We also... More

Excellent service from Harlan, creative menu and delicious cuisine. The French onion soup is the best I have ever tasted and paired beautifully with the subtle flavors of the calamari/shrimp salad. My husband loved the chicken breast because of the interesting combination of tastes. A wonderful beginning to our evening and stay in Ashland.
