The wife and I saw this place when we arrived in the GOTL / Ashtabula area for out vacation last year (may/June 2022) given that both of us like Italian food we decided to give them a try. We were EXTREMELY pleased with our first...trip therte wasn't a long wait and our server was very helpful. We liked it so much we made sure that we went back on the last evening of our vacation and again we were not disappointed. We had the same server and again he was very helpful. Both times our meals were excellent and we did not leave feeling hungry. We are planning a return teip this May/June and we fully intend to dine here again.More
My husband and I love it here. The food is always amazing every single time. My husband got the lasagna and I got the Portobello Mushroom Ravioli. Wow just wow. The place is always packed and there is always a line to get in, that...alone should speak volumes. If your in the neighborhood and want a fantastic meal this is your place.More
Very small place with great selection of made from scratch Italian. Got there at 4pm on a Saturday and place filled quickly. People stopping in or calling were told an hour wait. Waitress very knowledgeable with recommendations and very very friendly. Had homemade meat and...broccoli ravioli with a duck ragu sauce.hubby had home made lasagna. Salads were nicely chilled. Also had mussel appetizer and frozen chocolate mouse bombe for dessert. Wait for main course a little long but food was worth the wait. Near Geneva wineries so worth the ride into Ashtabula for dinner.More
The spaghetti sauce tasted like jar sauce, no flavor whatsoever, throw some tomatoes in a pan and add a little salt and pepper. Noodles overcooked and everything in place is over-priced. this is Geneva-on-The-Lake, not Geneva Switzerland. the meatballs were not even cooked in the...sauce, just a dry ball of ground beef thrown on top.More
Came to town for a long weekend and was recommended to us. We love the authenticity and the food is delicious. Great value. Packed with dine in and carry out on Saturday so you know it is well loved! Stromboli is divine.
We have never had a less than perfect meal. Service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is intimate. There is always something new to try on their specials board.
Met Alessandro while on vacation in Sicily and he encouraged me to visit his restaurant upon returning to Ohio. The food is fresh, innovative and tastes like AUTHENTIC Italian from Sicily. Service was friendly and top-notch and well worth the drive from Solon. Will definitely...be visiting again in the future!More
Just got a to go order of chicken parm. Awful. Overcooked. Rubbery. No pasta.Three flavorless side potatoes! No taste on anything. Side salad was tiny. Overpriced for a lousy meal. Recommend anywhere else.
Wow, it’s really hard to find REAL Italian food! If you’ve ever been to Italy you know that. The owner is also the chef and he prepares every meal which is so awesome! This being said, if you don’t want the specific sauce that comes...on your dish, you can get a different one. I had the spinach and garlic ravioli and it was delicious. Save room for dessert! I got the lemon ice which was lemon sorbet inside an actual lemon!More
Been coming here since he opened 20 years ago. The food is still fantastic and the service is great. Looking forward to continuing to come here in the years ahead.
We had planned to eat at one of the wineries, but they were all closed so we stopped here. It was a great choice. The food was excellent, all prepared fresh. A very nice selection on the menu. I had the grilled veggies lasagna and...it was wonderful. The other ladies had the gnocchi and loved it. There was plenty of homemade bread and we did decide to have dessert. What a surprise! I had the Cream Bomba - peanut butter icecream with a caramel center covered with a chocolate shell. Another dessert was Chocolate Tartufo which was a frozen chocolate mousse! The biggest surprise was the Lemon Ice - Lemon Sorbet in a real (yes real) Lemon! Everything was delicious and a real treat! Prices were quite reasonable and the servers were friendly and efficient. A great experience.More
Friends said that they had to take me to Alessandro's - just down from where they live. And now I know why. The food was delicious. I had the manicotti and my friend had the mussels. And we shared the dessert (should have had one...for myself!) The owner/chef stopped by and welcomed us. How lovely and welcoming! If you're in the area, then plan to eat here - don't even have to think about it. As Italian Americans, we typically don't rave about Italian restaurants. Alessandro just changed that!!More
We love to visit Alessandro’s and always have a good time and get to enjoy great food! We love to enjoy a bottle of red wine and one of Alessandro’s specials! Take home a jar of his meat sauce, you will love it!
What a charming family owned place! It was our first time here and obviously a local favorite based on the crowd showing up to wait after we got in line. Delicious fresh made food and very friendly. I had the eggplant Parmesan and my husband...had the veal Parmesan, both of which were delicious, and steaming hot ion arrival. Loved their sauce. Will definitely come back again! Give it a try when you want some terrific Italian food!More
