The restaurant has a slightly more upscale vibe than many of the other seafood or American cuisine restaurants in the area. That vibe transforms into their food presentation and service into something higher as well. Many of the menu items have an Asian flare with coconut curries, seared tuna, duck dishes and even a sushi night on Thursdays. There are... More

We try not to go back to the same places twice when we are out. This place broke our rule. Had a seafood combo, shrimp, scallops Tunai over Jasmine rice. Great. Wife had Mahi Mahi. Both over the top. Went back - wife, meatloaf (yea in a seafood town), me, tuna again with black bean cakes - fantastic. Get a... More

Amazing seafood. Huge fresh tuna steak never frozen. Mahi was also very good. Fried oysters to die for. So much attention to detail has gone into the decor. Down to the cricket and mosquito sounds piped into the bathroom giving it a strong feel of authentic southern coastal culture.

Tried all of the usual suspects in the Morehead City area, which were good, but rather generic. Traveling from the West Coast, I had asked around for restaurant suggestions and was told to try Amos Mosquito's. A somewhat unassuming facade led into a warm and boisterous bar and restaurant. Being by myself, I sat in the bar and was immediately... More

Visited Saturday night with friends to celebrate the holiday. We thought we would have a wait by the number of cars in the parking lot, but we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted warmly and quickly and we were immediately seated. Our waitress, Sunshine, promptly arrived, took our drink orders and highly recommended the cheesy lobster dip for an appetizer.... Ate here for supper one night. We were told there was a 30-40 minute wait but seated soon within 20 minutes. Front staff very friendly and nice. Our waitress Sunshine was excellent. Very personable and interacted with our daughter. Prices a bit higher than expected and food fair for the price paid. Food was served very quickly.

We vacation in AB yearly, and have eaten at Amos Mosquitos twice now. The place has a line out the door, but when we were there 2 tables sat empty next to us the entire meal!! It is WAY overpriced for food quality! Our bill was north of $200 for 4 adults and 2 kids under 9!!! No alcohol.... I... More

Got some yummy cocktails and we all ordered appetizers for meals. I had a delicious black bean burgers dish served with hot sauce and firecracker bread. Their cornbread is delicious, we left satisfied. There was a lengthy wait with several seats available. Perhaps short on staff this time of year.

Description
Welcome to Amos Mosquito’s Restaurant & Bar – or more affectionately known by locals as “Skeeter’s”. Established in 1999, Amos Mosquito’s offers a family friendly environment with a menu of fresh seafood and a wide variety of creative entrees. While in our first location on the Morehead City Waterfront, and here in our present location on Atlantic Beach overlooking beautiful Bogue Sound, we’ve had one primary goal in mind – to create the most unique, fun, and high quality dining experience that can be found in Eastern North Carolina. We have a seasoned staff of chefs, servers, and hosts who are passionate about making customers happy. Although we specialize in local seafood and offer at least two varieties of fresh fish every night, our menu also features chicken, pork and Sterling Silver beef.We make all our salad dressings, sauces and desserts in house and have a great children’s menu loaded with fun games and mosquito facts.Thursday nights are sushi nights at Amos Mosquito’s. We offer a full menu of fresh, made to order sushi in addition to our regular menu.Amos has a full bar and a wonderful, reasonably priced wine list.Reservations are not accepted, but you may call us to place an order for take out.
