I had no voice so hubby had to order for me. Hot water and lemon brought for me by Sam ( waiter) he was so thoughtful and attentive , without being overly so. Food was amazing. Ambience lovely. So happy with whole dining experience.

Likes 1. Setting and ambience. Hint of Scandinavian chill and laid back. 2. Good menu options, the beef tartare is a personal favorite. The signature chicken was a good recommendation and the lamb mmm mmmmm. My wife loved the lobster ravioli. 3. Fair price, the combo of good food and service plus nice setting makes the whole a nice package. 4. Dom, our server, was top class. Nothing beats a genuinely happy and chirpy happy to see you server attending our table. Dislikes 1. Parking (Bangsar generally) can be a pain on weekends. Suggest to start dinners earlier before the crowds and cars come in. 2. We chose to sit outdoor because the evenings were pleasant but the crow problem in Bangsar causes quite a din. Generally we loved the open air and pleasant temperature but won’t make a quite evening. There are some off menu items from time to time, ask if there’s any.

This restaurant has so much potential! The staff are incredible! The menu is really good but the dishes weren’t balanced. The mushroom dish lacked salt/soy and could even add some lemon/vinegar. The aubergine dish was really good apart from the feta which didn’t taste like feta at all. The cabbage dish was also really good, same with the creamy dip underneath, but even adding some salt or butter to the cabbage would elevate it. My favourite dish they have! The potatoes were crispy and fluffy, the perfect combo but lacked any flavour. We live really close and just wish they would add that little extra.

Ok place but no soul. Kitchen team looks sad including Danish chef. Service team looks more happy. Food is average. Good value for money. Location and set up is great.

Late afternoon my wife and son were hungry and we just went upstairs. The kale salad was fantastic and the Wagyu beef burger delicious. Staff attentive and food served as and when ready and thus hot - Asian style lah. Will visit again to try other dishes.

Shared starters amongst us. Fried calamari, beef tartare, beef dumplings, snapper cerviche were outstanding. Falafel and peppers stuffed with goats cheese were OK. Prawn ravioli was tasty. Scallops were well cooked. Main course portions seem a bit small but starter portions are quite generous. Dark chocolate gateau was very very good! Mango mousse was tasty but not our favourite. Cocktails were good and well made With 6 of us, 1 bottle of wine and 9 to 10 cocktails and food, the bill was RM 900 + which seemed reasonable for Bangsar. I would go back Service was OK. You do have to walk upstairs. Option to sit outside. Music can be a bit loud. Overall a very nice place

Roost to me was a nice, warm Western-ish restaurant that had the feel of a large, comfortable coffee shop. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, and found the warm, friendly staff members to be attentive but not overly so. This is a pretty restaurant, with widely spaced tables, an open kitchen on one end and a bar on the other end. Windows on two sides let in lots of natural light. I would describe the furnishings as "comfortable modern" (for what that random term that came to mind is worth). There is plenty of seating inside and outside, on plastic chairs (again, comfortable to me) at basic wood tables and in cushioned fabric or leather seats in a few small lounge areas. On the afternoon/evening when I was here, the balcony had an excellent breeze. (To be fair, it was not too toasty a day, but the breeze was still very nice.) Also on the evening I was here and sitting on the balcony, the cacophony from the birds in the nearby trees drowned out the music from Roost and most of the street noise; this seemed to turn off some of the customers, but I thought this was cool. :) The menu is a decent size -- smallish but with a nice variety. I enjoyed the spinach tortellini, but the standout to me were the excellent "padron peppers," a side of wonderful small seared peppers that did not have much heat to them (I would have enjoyed a bit more of that) but did have excellent flavor. (I enjoyed them to the point that I was sad to get to the last one of the peppers!) Given the opportunity, I would visit here again.

An interesting menu, fantastic pasta. More importantly, Roost offers a calm place to retreat and relax time with friends. Reasonable house wine price. Friendly and polite staff.

Steak was served after an hour + of waiting. Steak was unseasoned, tasteless & over-cooked broccoli. The boiled broccoli water wasn’t dried before serving. •Small portion, overpriced.

We arrived with high expectations after reading a few reviews. The menu looked good but lacked explanation of how ingredients were put together and how they are combined or cooked. The food did not come as expected, dishes arriving as they are cooked and not all at the same time. Pumpkin tortellini lacked flavour and pasta too thick, and on one plate it was cold. However some dishes worked well like the seafood inspired rigatoni. Mocktails were also disappointing and tasted diluted, with no depth of flavour.Best dish was the coconut Panna cotta, which had a balanced flavour and texture. Service was very good and perhaps over attentive. A few small fixes to the food will go a long way for this very nice Bangsar restaurant.

Second time in two weeks. Had the open sandwiches (carpaccio and heirloom tomatoes, both with caviar) and the hummus with bread. They were both great. A watermelon mojito cocktail on one occasion, glass of white on the other. Coffee to finish. The carpaccio in particular was very flavourful on dark bread. The hummus with bread is a meal by itself. Service was quick and attentive with the restaurant about a third full. Staff knew their dishes, and explained everything well. It's a large open room, so it's quite noisy. Take earphones and watch a movie while you eat. Or go in a group and make your own noise. Will go again, as it's all done so nicely. Bangsar prices, of course, with open sandwiches around 22-28 RM.

We stumbled across Roost looking for a quiet place to eat. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Spacious, intimate and quiet. The design and decor was really lovely with the kitchen available to view the enterprising chefs developing their creations. Moderately priced fare and our chosen dishes were tasty and well presented. Highly recommended, and especially for the smaller groups and people wanting quiet, intimate dining with some flair and pizzaz.

Friendly staff gives great attention. The meny showed well known classics with a twist to accomodate quality local ingredients. Great french fries as well. Only minus was the sound level inside the dining room. Could really use som dampening.
