Price-wise, as many have mentioned, this restaurant offers a great value. Food-wise, I wouldn't go that far. Noticed several dry items on the train (i.e. uni), maybe due to be a non-popular option. No sake offered whatsoever.

Great prices! My husband and I are to our hearts content (and we can pack in a lot of sushi) and had beers for under $50 USD. The fish was good, especially given the price point. What a fun experience.

Excellent sushi place! The whole menu just flowing right before your eyes, grab what you want, expert chefs will replenish everything within seconds. Pay based on the amount of plates you have before you. Some plates, cost more. Great deal also, extremely fast sushi-fix!

I don't rate all the places I visited or stayed in and Musashi was one of those places that I did not rate but I know I will visit again since a few years ago when I was first here. I was in Kyoto again and this was the place that was listed in the what-to-eat-again list. Glad to say... More

Went on a spring break trip to Tokyo and Kyoto. Coming from Hawaii, we usually eat Genki sushi most often, so I wanted to try more authentic Japanese sushi. You'd think that sushi-specific restaurants would be common in Japan, but no, was super hard to find just walking around or using Google. While in Kyoto, I dragged my family of... More

Very nice kaiten sushi. It's fun to see the chefs at work. Friendly staff, nice tea and great seating area upstairs. It's a little more expensive than other conveyor belt restaurants, but that was well worth it!

We found this place randomly. We didn't have to wait very long before getting a place for the three of us. You sit right in front of the conveyor belt and on the other side you can watch the chefs preparing the different sushis. Prices vary between ¥146 and ¥346/ plate, green tea is complimentary. It was fresh, clean and had... More

a wonderful meal with a choice of many many dishes all very reasonable for prices averaging 146 yen per plate or less than $2.00. indeed the difficulty is choosing the varied dishes. your plates are tallied up at the end for your final price. A must see to add to the Japanese eating expeirence

Located in the Kyoto station building, Musashi is a sushi train with very fresh sushi and you can watch the chefs preparing the dishes . A great variety and certainly quality sushi.

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
