Very hard to describe, need to experience yourself. It's not so much about the food but the atmosphere. Very good wine list. You get transported into another world. We had a table on the second floor with large windows - прозрачный сумрак, блеск безлунный, когда я в....

The setting is lovely and the first floor had music. We had a very nice window table. My husband had mushrooms in cream and elk sausage. He said his was very good. I did not have same luck. I had borscht and beef stroganoff at the waiter's suggestion. Neither was very good. Both were Luke warm and the stroganoff was... More

I did not see such service with reading poems. The food is great! Looks like a museum, necessary to visit.

Went for lunch in the library. Excellent service and attention to detail. The food was good. Had fish soup and roast chicken. The only downside in the wine list which is off the scale expensive.

Had a lovely evening at cafe Pushkin. We knew it was going to be expensive before we got there. The food was very good but not outstanding. The wine and the water prices, however, were off the scale expensive - even by London prices. £10 for 750cl of water and £90 for wine you can buy in the UK for... More

Make sure you get a table in library upstairs. Excellent food but very pricey. Superior service and most of staff speak English.

We have been there on two occasions. Breakfast and dinner. In both cases the dishes are very small resulting the price, which looks expensive at a first glance becoming very much expensive. A bottle of Avian water cost 680 RUB. The food itself was great even though I think that the boar stew was prepared from beef and not boar,... More

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighbourhood Profile
Tverskaya
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
