We had a very nice meal at the Tug. We were upstairs and found it a little warm. They put the airconditioning on but it didn't work especially well. We did have a very good meal and oiled go back again!!

I've continuously visited the Tug for years. Its still one of the best kitchens in town, and that in a Town with arguably the best kitchens in the country. Great dinner in the bar. Try the Waldorf Salad with a crisp white wine on the terrace. Perfect lunch.

Having our oysters and steak at a little corner table with glass walls, almost hovering above the waves. Amazing wine selection, not cheap but not excessive and fantastic quality and service.

We were staying in Swakopmund and decided to pop in for dinner! Did not expect the restaurant to be so busy, it was a Wednesday night, and that we should have booked. It was suggested we have a drink in the bar, but did not have to wait long before we were shown to our table, which was in the... More

This is indeed one of the best places in Swakop to eat some a-la-carte fish. All the dishes tasted fresh and were well presented an perfectly cooked. There is plenty to chose from so you will definitely find something that you like. This is not a fine dining place, the food is very fresh but don't expect any mind blowing... More

We had the oysters both fresh and the rocker fellas, highly recommended. Good seafood dishes but we waited 30 minutes after they clear out appetisers for our mains to arrive. And our waiter avoided looking at us when we tried to catch his attention. Mid range prices. Would have made our experience better if food was served a bit quicker.

We were recommended to try The Tug, as being one of the 2 best places to eat in Swakopmund. It certainly gets a 5 for location: an old tug boat dragged up on the shore, and built around to make a good sized restaurant. We didn't ask but were lucky enough to be allocated a little table on the original... More

Our best meal out in Namibia including for a vegetarian. Can have drinks outside, little blowy when we were there but great views. Good choice on menu, something for everyone. My husband is a confirmed meat eater and I am long term vegetarian and we were both delighted with our meals. Tasty, good size portions, fresh ingredients, nice wine list.... More

It's great to get back to Swakopmund and visit one's favourite eatery. It never disappoints. Great service, food and view. The best table in the house is by the window overlooking the ocean. Thank you Brett and staff for keeping it 'the best'!

We went to Namíbia on a self driving 2 week holidays and stayed for 2 days in Swakopmund. The 1st night we decided to go out and have a nice fish dinner... we went to The Tug's with no reservation and got lucky: we had a very nice seafood meal, south african wine and desert. The place is well decorated,... More
