The home made gnocchi made me travel back to Italy with a bite! Nice atmosphere and competitive pricing! Delizioso! Un must per chi ha voglia di un piatto italiano in Essaouria.

On a very rainy and cool night in Essaouira my partner and I ventured into this arty, funky and old world tiled, jazzy establishment to be greeted by a lovely Italian lady who explained their home-made Italian pasta dishes in Italian, French and English too. We enjoyed a delightful and delicious meal here and some rather good local red wine... More

We wanted to change from moroccan food, so we found this Italian for hazard. The place is very typical, showing a nice and cosy fusion of moroccan/Italian decoration. We instantly felt in an Italian home. The food is really good reminding real homemade Italian. Unfortunately the acclaimed young couple everybody talks about was not there, and the lady in charge... Change of pace, excellent Italian food. Wife had salad and I had a pureed veggie soup. Then, meat lasagna for her and meat ravioli for me. All delicious. Nicely decorated place. Owner enjoys what she does with a warm smile and great disposition.

Situated just off one of the main bazaar roads within the medina, Dar Baba has a very quaint, intimate and lovely atmosphere. The decor is nice and dishes are really great. We ate so well that we went back for a second... More

This restaurant run by a lovely Italian lady is relaxed with attentive and personal service. We came here on our first night in Essaouira and loved it so much we returned for our last. It is licensed, and the wine is pretty good! Particularly recommend the home made pasta and desserts.

We stumbled upon Dar Baba while looking for dinner one evening. We were the only guests at the time but lucky us! Everything about our experience was amazing! The owner is Italian. She speaks French and Italian but not English and Moroccan Arabic. Despite the language differences, we managed to communicate well; language was not a problem. She was very... More
