It's a very simple restaurant offering friendly service and pretty reasonable food. We shared a sesame prawn starter and had a curry each. The Mrs had prawn and I had chicken. Her prawns came shell on and had to be peeled but the waitress said they would have done it at the time of cooking had she known, which is fair enough. Both dishes were really nice. Then we indulged in the fried ice cream. We ordered one each but could probably have shared one. Delicious. I think it's like a cornflake and syrup coating and is served cold. Add a couple of cocktails and a beer and a decent night was had for a reasonable price. A simple restaurant serving simple but tasty food. worth a visit but no need to dress up.

As a Mauritian, having a meal at Pakbo gives you the real Mauritian feel, with its menu, the warm welcome (no fake smiles) and the deco/setup... Food is great, the place is clean and neat. The outside dining space is just next to the road but yet you feel being taken care of with much attention. Service is quick. The prawns and octopus preps are amazing.. I'm going there again for sure...

I recently visited the restaurant, not once but twice. Where do I start? The food? The atmosphere? The service? Everything is just the best; from the food to the service and the very friendly staffs. We ordered a few canapés to start with and this is where we knew we came to the right place. The canapés flowing in with the drinks, followed by the freshly prepared food, the perfect ambience, the perfect service with no wait, the little attentions given to us was exceptional. The place is kids friendly and parking facilities is amazing. We are very happy with everything during our visit and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pakbo restaurant to anyone visiting flic en Flac. Good job and we shall visit very soon again. Thank you for making both our visits exceptional and a moment to cherish forever.

The service is nice and the decor, but the food is very heavy and unfortunately deep-fried in oil, which is probably rarely replaced. As the 2nd best restaurant in town Flic en flac I am totally disappointed and would not return again. After dinner for the first time in Mauritius I felt very bad which is not a good sign.

We were there for dinner 3 times during our vacation. We tried different dishes (lamb and octopus Mauritian style, sesame shrimp, samosas, saffron octopus, coconut shrimp curry, paneer curry, magical thai bowl) and everything was great. Also, the friendly staff and atmosphere suited us more than in other places and the music was far better. Value for money excellent. I definitely recommend it.

Had a great dinner at Pakbo in the Flic en Flac district of Mauritius. Staff was very friendly and helpful, even accommodating my request for dishes to be made spicy and also gave me extra chili on the side. Portions are generous (including the appetizers) with a variety of Creole, Mauritian and Indian style dishes. Loved the lemon cheesecake! Noticed that some patrons were tourists returning for a second or third time so definitely a great spot for tasty authentic food that does not “water down” dishes to cater for stereotypical tourists, much appreciated 😊

We visited having not booked and were seated promptly at one of the last walk in tables available. The food was fresh, the octopus curry was incredible, would highly recommend! Staff happy to discuss my intolerance to bell peppers and recommend dishes to me. Food service was a tad slow but the flavour of the dishes certainly made up for it! Only other slight negative is that the wine serving was very small, probably less than a traditional small glass of wine probably two gulps worth and was the same price as my husbands xl beer! Would go back again though and order a different drink!

We had a delicious dinner at this place; calamaris, sesame shrimp, shrimp curry and octopus saffron. Everything tasted so good and fresh. The food is simple and tasty – and reasonably priced. The place looks modest, but just step in and you’ll be surprised. The service is smooth and friendly. We would have absolutely visited this place again, but sadly we had to leave next day.

We visited in February 2023 as a family of 4 to experience the local cuisine and have a break from the hotel buffet. We were warmly welcomed, good menu choice, reasonably priced and friendly staff. The service was slow, however that is because we had starters and mains and the place had every table full (always a good sign). Highly recommended the calamari. I had the prawn cocktail to start, served in a beautiful tall cocktail glass and a main course of a traditional creole prawn in tomato stew with rice, delicious. Good European menu options available for fussy kids too! Will definitely eat there again next time we come to Mauritius.

I ate their take away food during our holiday. Delicious and quickly prepared. Great fish samosas, prawn curry, mattar paneer, mauritian style salad... Also, great take away mojitos :)

We had dinner here in November 2021 and were very surprised by the combination of friendly, professional service and the excellent food. Admittedly, the location so close to the street takes a bit of getting used to, but you can have a normal conversation and so the restaurant is also good and easy to get to. The décor is simple, but the food on offer is very good and fresh prepared.

Upon reading reviews that Pakbo catered to dietary requirements we chose this place for lunch. We arrived, looked through the menu and asked about gluten free. The waitress said to pick something and she would check with the Chef if it could be made GF. Unfortunately, the chicken salad had gluten. I was offered 3 things… a choice of 2 different soups (in 26 degree heat) or another salad which was not as FODMAP friendly. Wouldn’t recommend eating here if your GF or coeliac 👎🏼

Stopped outside Pakbo to check the menu and was already tempted but was confirmed when we saw a diner inside eating give us the thumbs up (thank you whoever you are). The food was freshly prepared, really tasty, good portions and with unique presentation and a chilled atmospy. I'd recommend this place in Flic en Flac.

Came to this place at the suggestion of a friend and didn’t regret it 👌🏻. Friendly and swift service, excellent food and drinks and a beautiful space. My wife and I had the cheese samoussa and calamari for starters , it was amazing. The half cooked tuna is the best tuna I have eaten in my life, I would come back for the tuna alone. The cocktails were also very delicious and strong, I had two mojitos and my wife had a Homemade ice tea made by our server Roy (Great young chap, all the best). We will definitely be back !
