This is magic. May is a beautiful woman who spends the afternoon cooking Mauritian food in her kitchen and serves three tables in the evening. There is a little bar but it is a teeny place. The food is excellent but that isn't just why you come here. You come here to meet May, drink rum punch that makes your knees feel like jelly, hear the incredible stories, chat with other people and generally feel like you have been welcomed into someone's home. It is an experience. It was a highlight. You seriously must go.

Thank you Nadine et May for a fantastic dining experience at your charming restaurant in the centre of Flic En Flac.
This family run restaurant has an intimate, elegant vibe and Nadine and May make you feel instantly welcome, like one of their family.
They serve a delicious feast of Mauritian small plates so you can sample a large number of well prepared exotic dishes set against a good portion of rice. In particular the chicken curry was absolutely divine!
I chose a South African white which was superb.
There was a pleasing light dessert to conclude and a complimentary liqueur.
You must make a reservation in advance. But this actually enhances the experience as you have a lovely dinner in a chic restaurant to look forward to !

Tasting of 3 Mauritian dishes with white rice and 8 vegetables as an accompaniment, a flambéed banana/ice cream and a little mixed rum (single menu at 1200 rupees). All prepared with love by our hostess, May, a fan of Frédéric François. Warm and personalized welcome. The local flavors are there and the taste buds are in heaven! I recommend...

Food was quite good. However, considering that they mainly serve vegetables which come with a sausage and a few bites of chicken for 2ppl 1000 MUR per person = 21€ per person it is quite overpriced. For 2 alcoholic drinks and the food, we ended up paying 2600 MUR= 54€. Prices are made for tourist only as we didn't see any native eating there.

Here you have to book in advance because there are only a few tables, we favor quality over quantity! A treat through several local dishes and accompaniments, sometimes even discoveries, and you can really feel the home cooking! We finish with a succulent banana flambée and vanilla ice cream with house rum, without forgetting the warm discussions directly at your table!!!!! Fixed menu 1200 rupees which is worth it, go for this experience!!!!

Such a great Mauritius dinner. There is one menu (many many different plates to test all served on the table) , so generous and accompanied by two Punch. We were welcomed by the owner, she is extremely kind ! So nice talking to her. She has 3 tables therefore the quality is definitely there. You should book at least a day before.

Loved. My night here 1 highlight of our trip to Mauritius! Ambience, food, drink, staff -even the other diners -what a lovely evening . Make sure you walk by and book a few days ahead. There were a steady stream of passers by wanting to eat but we were full at 8 guests as there are only 4 tables (plus the gorgeous baby Johann!)

Our hotel recommended this local restaurant and it was one of the best meals of our stay in Mauritius. We were unsure of what to expect with no menus, prices etc, however we were looked after beautifully and served 14 (!) dishes of amazing food. Curries, vegetables, rice and lots of delicious rum. Reasonably priced and a great experience- would definitely recommend.

Attention, only on reservation! We were extremely lucky because 2 people had cancelled their reservation the night we showed up. Small restaurant with only a few seats, for a tasting menu of typical Mauritian dishes style "grandma's dish". A TREAT! May and her family are very friendly. Simple and balanced food that allows you to discover typical vegetables of Mauritius. Perfect seasonings. And a small rum arranged homemade for digestion!

Delicious ! If you want to discover the town's cuisine, don't hesitate! The concept: taste different dishes and vegetables. With succulent flambéed bananas and homemade rum for dessert.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Meal served cold. Without any flavor. The boss barely welcomed us. You can feel that this restaurant operates thanks to a reputation that is largely overrated.
