Local dishing prepared excellently, with a friendly touch. I enjoyed the dish made from Jungle ferns, second was the local flash in lemon grass broth with native eggplant (aubergene). Close thirds was a dish with cooked durian or one with beans (pandan?). As a westerner the flavors were astounding! Mary, the hostess was friendly and could not be more accommodating.... More

The food here is expensive and food portions were small. The tuak ice-cream was unique and pretty good. Disappointed overall.

A wonderful meal using ingredients that we had never tasted before, so many of the flavours were quite new to us, and all were well cooked and nicely presented. Particularly liked the durian chicken. The host was extremely welcoming and a font of knowledge about Dyak culture. The restaurant is adorned by fascinating artefacts from the host's family. Our children... More

My friend a local man booked us for this restaurant. It is little way from the centre of Kuching near the Spring shopping mall. Ambience top rated Food superb Service efficient Staff were able to explain each dish for me (Australian) and made some recommendations. Rice wine fabulous, but very alcoholic. Will go again.

the Dyak restaurant is a bit away from the center of town but the food was worth the travel. We were looking specifically for fermented Durian dish and we were not disappointed. we also tried the sweet potato leaves and special fern dishes, plus special three layered pork. The dessert was the vanilla icecream with fermented rice and rice wine... More

Food was good and service was ok. Very traditional but a bit pricey for what it is. I would still go back though.

The Dyak is a fair way away from most of the main hotels and we took a taxi to get there. It was worth the journey. The food is unusual (in a nice way) and all very delicious. The ingredients were very fresh and many seemed to have been gathered from the jungle. My daughter had no trouble finding veggie... More

It is the first time I had tried Dayak food. It was indeed delicious. We had a steamed tilapia fish; which was done so well, you could not tell it was a freshwater fish. Also had the sweet potato leaves which tastes wonderful too, this is a personal favourite vegetable... so this comment may be biased. My favourite dish in... More

We enjoyed our experience here. My fave was the pork dish with pickled durian - a good way to try durian if you don't like the raw fruit. The other dishes were delicious and interesting - we mostly went with different forest herbs and vegetables. I liked the wine they have, though there was only one variety available that night....
