it was the most delicious fruit tart i ever had. the texture in the custard, freshness of the fruits and the perfect consistency of the crust with no grittily sugar in it, worth my RM9, i will sacrifice a KFC meal for this. my whole money's worth

We liked the cafe and the various moon cakes currently on offer. They are also well stocked with wines and beers. Do note many of the products are imported so prices are higher. There was a biscuit from the UK that cost 135 ringgit, as well as other imported chocolates. They do have nice bread and pastries.

The last time i’ve been here was many years ago. And I always ordered the Hainanese Chicken rice everyt time Inwent there and nothing else! Still the best!!! That’s how good it is. This time i ordered the OX tail. OMG! Soo good!! And the French Toast too!!! Never ate french toast like this one. Made with Brioche bread. Wow! Of all the time I went there, everything (not all) but most, are very yummy dishes!! Woohoo!! Go! Go! Go! For your info, I like to eat and I know what is GOOD food.

Tried on 2 April around 4 pm. Ordered ice cream cup and a sticky date pudding and a latte. Sticky date pudding was indeed very nicely done. I did not like neither the ice cream served with pudding nor the ice cream cup that I ordered separately One of the niCest cafes around

Extremely disappointed to be misled by the menu. Some Breakfast set items which has been indicated to include copy doesn’t appear to be the case. Ordered a Brioche French Toast for $27 and was charged an additional $12 for coffee. See the attached photo of the menu and you see what I mean. It’s equivalent to close to 50% more surcharge.

As the title says, we were in need of coffee to wake up after a long flight from Tokyo and were brought here by the family. Others had noodles while I had the toasted rye and jam. Coffee was very good with the only downside being the slightly slow service.

To me this place serves the best cappuccino and croissants in town. It’s a lovely cafe in a supermarket. Great for Sunday breakfast before hitting the famous Sunday Market at Gaya Street for a shopping spree.

Surprisingly they offer one of the best French Toast in town. Coffee wise, it was a bit too acidic to personal liking.

Fifty 5 sits at the left corner of Tong Hing supermarket in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As you enter, u'll be met with shelves of bread and pastries at normal prices as well as discounted prices for overnite pastries! There's also a fridge full of cakes and other desserts to tantalise your taste buds. The set up of the cafe is ordinary .. conducive for a quiet peaceful meal or a chat over coffee n desserts. The selection of food is limited which consists of a fusion of Western n Asian delights! Prices are pretty steep for a cafe...comparable to those charged in hotels! U r allowed to choose your preference of meat from the supermarket and they'll cook it to your satisfaction with free salad n fries. Even the meat costs a bomb unless u pick those that r discounted! The meagre portion of lamb falls short of the price, the Oxtail Assam pedas can't match the ones served in Hyatt, the laksa needs more spice n a thicker consistency would certainly enhance its taste but the rojak is commendable cause the peanut sauce is thick enough and is tangy. Generally, there's room for improvement with regards to both the quality n quantity of the food and desserts! The prices charged should be reassessed- paying rm 3.00 - rm 4.90 for a doughnut is madness. A Japanese bun with peach costs rm 5.50 n a normal wholemeal loaf costs rm 7.50! Dining or snacking here may leave a hole in your pocket! This cafe is complimented by a team of friendly n hardworking staff!

Cafe Fifty 5 sits at one corner of Tong Hing Supermarket...to the left of the main entrance. As you walk in, shelves of fresh bread at normal price as well as overnite bread going for 50% and a fridge full of cakes, doughnuts and other desserts will certainly appeal to pastry lovers! The set up of the cafe is ordinary..practical and reasonably pleasant for quiet chats over a cuppa or dinner.Unfortunately, the food selection is limited and prices are pretty steep. The costs is either double or triple what you pay outside,,,similar to prices charged in hotel coffee house! The only good thing is you get to choose your cut of meat from the supermarket and they'll cook to your satisfaction plus they throw in the salad and fries for free. BUT be prepared to pay through your nose for the meat from the supermarket! The only consolation is sometimes they give a 20% off the price of selected meats. Generally, there is room for improvement for the taste of the food....the rojak makes a good choice (the peanut sauce is thick enough), the oxtail assam pedas falls short of Hyatt's, the lamb is so-so and the portion is a bit scanty .. likewise with the beef steak; the laksa needs more ooomph - more spice and thicker consistency will certainly enhance the taste. Nothing to shout about the desserts except for the price for a doughnut costs rm 3.00 to rm 4.90 and a Japanese peach bun rm 5.50 and a normal wholemeal loaf rm 7.50! Aside from this, thumbs up to their friendly and hard working staff!

The cafe is call Fifty5 located inside Tong Hing Supermarket. They have mixed selection of local Malaysian and western dishes. The Hainanese Chicken rice is of quality and definitely better then the normal chicken rice you have in normal coffee shop but you are paying almost three times the price. Ie RM27.90, excluding 10% service charge and 6% govt tax. Boneless, tasty and serve with fragrance rice and soup. The Oxtail assam pedas can certainly improve. The one in Grandis or Hyatt is better. Staff are well trained and friendly.

We were told about this gourmet cafe, being inside a top quality supermarket. You enter the supermarket and immediately are hit by the sublime aroma of freshly brewed coffee. We stopped for drinks and cakes but our French friend went back for more coffee and more crispy fresh croissants twice, since he was so impressed and couldn't stop raving about it. We have since been back several times during our stay in Kota Kinabalu. They are a little slow making the coffee and tea but it is well worth the wait. They serve a limited choice of tasty snacks, sandwiches and French cakes and pastries which all look delicious, but we have only tasted the bakery delights so far! As an aside- The supermarket is not the cheapest. but sells a lot of Japanese and expat products you don't find elsewhere. Top quality and immaculately kept shop.
