I first dined here more than 10 yrs ago when it was highly recommended by Lonely Planet. Food was good and reasonable. Came back tonight and was disappointed. Food wasn't as good and was overpriced. Seems like stuff is just reheated. There are also hidden charges such as the wet towels and peanuts and the iced water. It isn't much... More

So after a ton of walking, planning to finish at a different restaurant, we ended up here because our chosen destintion was closed. Wow are we glad! The owner of this tiny but amazing place really does it right! Her english was perfect, her hospitality superb, and her cooking... to die for! There is a reason it has been featured... More

Don't ever go to this place. We ordered starter, 2 main dishes, 2 coffe drinks in total for 70 RM. The food wasn't good. Portions are really small. For the same price you can have amazing dinner in restaurant next door (duck restaurant). Make sure you read all review of this place before going here. Personal opinion: Don't bother co... More

When we entered the restaurant , one other family there . We waited for quite a while as no one at the reception. That should have been our time to leave. Finally a very tired looking waitress appeared , and pointed to the far table for us . Then it started the owner / cook came out to advise us... More

1. OVERCHARGED: we were charged 247 RM for 5 small dishes, 4 bowls of rice, 2 desserts and 4 drinks. According to the price on the menu, our dishes shall not be more than 150RM. 2. DISTURBING: During the dinner, the owner of the restaurant kept disturbing us by bosting that there are a lot of famous people visited her... More

This small restaurant is exactly the kind of place where you would not enter if you aren't very well suggested. It is spoil, surely not good looking, modest. Only after tasting the amazing recipes of the home cusine, you understand why you are there: to have a marvellous meal, made with traditional care, home grown vegs, farm meats. The result... More

Food was so so, lady claiming to be chef, was friendly, but by the end of our dinner, I've decided that she's too talkative, and too boastful. When we got the bill, I was shocked at how overpriced it was. The food was definitely not worth the price we paid. For the time that we were there, there was only... More

We initially went to a different restaurant, which (although claiming to be open) turned out to be not interested in actually serving. Our very helpful taxi driver (R. Raja. Naidu - +6012-568 5411) took us to Nyonya Baba. Excellent food and very friendly. Everything was delicious, but we especially enjoyed the fish cake on banana leaf. This is a family-run... More

Over past few decades, Penang has earned herself an excellent reputation as a food paradise to all the world! Foreigners from the West and Asian travelers would make yearly pilgrim to Penang for all the “heavenly” food!!! I have visited Penang many times over the past 15 years and had tried many good restaurants specialized in Peranakan cuisine. However, my... More

Don't Try, Don't Try! Don't Ever Try! Typically, we go to restaurants for any or combination of these 5 reasons: 1. The "taste" of the food 2. The "quality" of the food 3. The "ambience" of the restaurant 4. The "price" you pay 5. The "service" you receive This so-called Nyonya Baba Cuisine failed miserably in my opinion. Born and... More
