Went here first of all for the bar above the water next to the restaurant. We were so impressed by the service and information given to us by (I think this is his name, sorry if I have it wrong) Jolie. A very well mannered gentleman in the bar and how passionate he was about their restaurant that we decided to book it for our last evening, 2 nights later. The cocktails were gorgeous, the spot is fantastic and so pretty and nothing was too much trouble.
2 nights later we were back for pre dinner cocktails and it was just like the choc eclair ad we almost melted with relaxation and enjoyment! We have eaten in some fabulous restaurants around the world and this is up there with the best. We went for the Journey tasting menu. There is a smaller option and the 7 course one and we decided to go for the larger one as we were assured that portions were not too large. Oh went for the wine pairing version.
Had the usual amuse bouche and then a lovely small loaf with a marmalade cream - yummy. The starter of mudcrabs was exquisite. Didn't know what to expect from this but what a wonderful start to the whole experience.
Mandy, the chef, came to talk to us after this and was very helpful in how I could adapt this myself. One of the ingredients isn't generally available for me so I was delighted to have a small giftbag at the end of the meal with 2 vials for me to take home!
The barman from our first evening came to see us to check we were enjoying ourselves. All these touches make you feel that they really care what you think and how you are enjoying yourself.
We had a wonderful, wonderful evening. The cheese course came on the biggest cheeseboard ever and was served, as in France, before the pudding course.
It was expensive but so worth it and beautiful memories of our last evening in Langkawi. Buggy transfer back to the Westin and then bed!

We are currently staying on the island at the Ritz Carlton and I asked the concierge to recommend a couple of alternative restaurants outside of our own hotel. This was one of several that was recommended and after reading reviews we went ahead and booked it.
Firstly the setting is beautiful, set out on the water giving great news back to the hotel and very attractive and comfortable seating arrangements.
We perused what was a very mouthwatering menu and decided to treat ourselves. We started with half a dozen oysters to have with our pre-dinner drink. They came with an in-house Bloody Mary sauce that with the oysters was outstanding and a great start.
We then had individual starters, both of which could not be faulted. For the main course we had decided to share the seabass that was prepared in front of us ahead of serving. We have both had seabass numerous times before but this without question was the best we’ve ever had.
Normally we do not have room for dessert, but last night was an exception with my partner having a chocolate desert and I decided to have a selection of excellent soft cheeses.
The following morning I was still talking about our meal and without doubt it is one of the best I have ever had and I highly recommend this venue to anyone visiting Langkawi.

This is the signature restaurant at the St Regis, Langkawi and a memorable experience. From the sunset cocktail to the tasty dishes it is a journey ably assisted by willing and competent staff. Under the leadership of Executive chef Mandy Goh, it is a gastronomic winner!

A place to be if you fancy watching sunset with an amazing cocktail in your hand. Tip top service. Lounge on the hanging pavilion overlooking the seas to enjoy an obstructed view of the the beautiful sunset. A big shoutout to Alif - he is passionate, friendly and knowledgable and whips up unique concoctions that will excite your tastebuds. Alif becomes animated when he explains what goes into your drink. Tell him your taste and he will surprise you with his creation. As we spent 3 nites in the hotel, Kayuputi became our spot for that 3 nites and never failed to surprise us every nite. To the management who reads this, we would like to thank and commend Alif as well as the rest of the crew for their spectacular service.

If there's a 6 star rating, I would not hesitate to give it to Kayuputi. The food, service, ambience are spot on. Each dish is uniquely and carefully curated. The cognac infused lobster bisque is the best that I've ever tasted.
Other outstanding dish includes the salads of mudcrab, toothfish which blends perfectly with asam-based risotto and the creme brulee. I've never thought that creme brulee can be presented in such fashion. They did very nice cocktail too and I would imagine how chill it is to enjoy one while watching the sunset which I've missed due to cloudy sky.
The service is simply outstanding. I could see how proud of them to be able to work here. Everyone is passionate, knowledgeable on the food & wine pairing recommendation, takes time to explain the unique design of the restaurant and is eager for customer feedback.
On both nights, I was well attended by the ever attentive Alif. It is people like Alif and the team that makes dining in Kayuputi an elevated experience.

This restaurant was fabulous - we ended up eating here three times on our holiday. superb service and beautiful surroundings and simply amazing food. The food has been lovingly prepared with a blend of flavors and textures. If you love your food and enjoy fine wine or cocktails in beautiful surroundings you can’t go wrong here.

The moment we arrived at the restaurant, we were already in awe. The interior that welcomed us was stunning, on top of the warmth of the staff greeting us at the entrance. We were attended by Alif through most of the night and his recommendations were spot on - not too much nor too little food for the both of us and the taste was just too exquisite. We've been to a few fine dining restaurants and some Michelin restaurants, we're very impressed that the food served in Kayuputi was beyond par. From the oyster, to the risotto and finally the creme brulee, we were just overwhelmed by every dish, all thanks to Alif's recommendations. He was very attentive to our needs but not intrusive either and his service was excellent. My husband booked the dinner to commemorate our honeymoon. Unfortunately under the online booking, we couldn't put Honeymoon as the purpose of our visit. Alif came over towards the end of our dinner to confirm this with us and then surprised us with a little treat that said "Happy Honeymoon" instead. It's these level of details that make our visit more memorable and make us want more. We look forward to coming back soon and will definitely include Kayuputi in our itinerary! Thanks so much Alif for the great service and the wonderful team for such a divine meal :)

Excellent menu in a beautiful setting overlooking the Straits of Malacca. All sea p food and good wines - expensive, but you’re getting what you are paying for. Two taster menus, one vegetarian, with a bar at the far end of a stilted property approached by an extended walkway above the water. The high ceilings and unique decor make for a special evening. I cannot explain the level of service experienced on the two occasions we dined there, let alone the impeccable food we tasted.
We tried the 6 course tasting menu twice, once the recommended courses, then to our surprise we had a tailor made menu! Both times were of the highest standards I've experienced anywhere in the world.
The device we received from every single person we encountered in the bar and restaurant were nothing short of world class, special thanks to Alif.S and Sarah who went above and beyond the levels of service I've experienced anywhere.
We even received a beautiful hand written card from them on our last night.
Simply superb, cannot wait to come back to our special place.

Our family was staying at the Westin and treated ourselves to dinner at Kayaputi at the neighbouring St Regis on our last night.
It is an incredibly beautiful restaurant inside and outside with a spectacular sunset view from its balcony bar and lounge area. It is set out on a pier in the ocean.
We had excellent service from Sara.
The food was very good. We had the lobster risotto.
This is a fabulous venue for a special occasion.
It is the most beautiful restaurant I have been to anywhere in the world.

We were staying at the St Regis and we were having a birthday celebration at Kayuputi. A buggy wished us to the restaurant where we were warmly greeted by Alexander who invited us to the open terrace to have a drink and to view the sunset before our dinner. For dinner, we opted for the JJ Experience dinner course where each course was beautifully presented and delicious. The whole Kayaputi team were very engaging and friendly. It ended by them giving us a complimentary birthday cake and with the team signing the birthday song! A thoroughly enjoyable evening for my family and I. Highly recommended if you are in Langkawi which is better than Hai Yan Ritz Carlton which we also tried, although good, but Kayaputi stands out with a better overall experience.

The ambiance made the difference and ofcourse the service crew Mr. Alif syazwan was very attentive and informative with the menu. Within few minutes ,there comes the complementary teh tarik birthday cake from Alif when i told him, its my wifes birthday. Not to miss complementary cocktail from the bar crew Krime

We had dinner here and it was a truly memorable experience.
The restaurant itself is stunningly beautiful inside. The outside, a white house on stilts with the backdrop of the ocean makes it an Instagram worthy photo.
I would recommend getting a glass of wine at the Pavilion bar outside to watch the sunset before dinner as well.
We tried the Malaysian rediscovery and a Taste of Astor tasting menu. I’ve had tasting menus before but this one was particularly large so come hungry! We were so stuffed by the end. I would skip the pre dinner aperitif cocktail.
From start to finish every dish was beautifully plated, the combination of flavors was delightfully exquisite.
I am originally from Malaysia so I was so impressed by Chef Shahfi Yousoff’s take on some Malaysian dishes that I had grown up with. My favorite was his very modern take on cendol- mango cendol mouse. So Yummy.
It was my birthday so they brought me a complimentary cherry chocolate torte. That was delicious as well and a nice touch.
Service was top notch. Every server was friendly and so accommodating.
I saw some prior reviews that the prices were steep. Honestly compared to foreign restaurant prices, the prices of these tasting menus were very reasonable. I would definitely come back here.

We had fabulous multi-course meal here here during our recent stay at the St. Regis. I had the Astor tasting menu and every bite was excellent. My wife had a vegan-ized version of the more vegetarian leaning tasting menu which the chef so capably adjusted for her. The service was excellent, and they opened the water facing folding windows in the evening to complete the experience. They had great cocktails as well.
