Very nice appetizers and a good burger!

I went in March so the place was empty and the people were happy to see me. They had a very cute dog begging for food in the restaurant which was nice. The owner recommended me a turkish sausage with pistacio and cheese inside, very tasty. I had a burger as a main course, it did not have a lot of garnishment but the taste was very good, it was freshly grilled and very warm, the fries were very crispy as well. They do smoke inside the place if you do not like that, I did not mind that much. The burger and appetizer were good for price, the steaks are a lot more expensive.

Amazing food and service!

We had an incredible dinner at the Smile Steak House. The atmosphere was very classy yet cozy and comfortable, simply magical at night with the candlelight.The chateaubriand was so tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly. The meatball with cheese was so tasty, spiced very elegantly. Salad, fruits and cheese were very fresh and beautifully presented. The owners were simply amazing and made us feel like family. We can not say enough wonderful things about this restaurant!

The perfect place to be

Snow, a burning fire, good music, great local food and wine what more could you want? Smile Steakhouse has a great low key ambience that is just fantastic on a cold evening. The staff are friendly and attentive and service is quick. A great menu selection to suit most diners. I had a burger that was well cooked and flavoursome and came with a selection of sauces. Add a delicious local red and it was the perfect meal. I would definitely come back!

Inferior Steak

We came here with much anticipation for a Texas Steak dinner, especially after reading a couple of reviews of recent patrons who've enjoyed their steaks. We're from Texas and therefore we were looking forward to our dinner. Pooria, our waiter was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Tulum Salad that is suppose to have had Figs and Walnuts. Our salad had 1/2 fig and zero walnuts. Otherwise, the salad had a good flavor. For our dinner, you guessed it, we ordered the Texas Steak. The steak arrived pre-carved which is a big no no. The steak lacked in flavor and had more fat than meat. It was a terrible steak and it certainly isn't a Texas Steak. It's shameful that a restaurant would serve such poor quality steak. I would have given this restaurant a "1" star, but because Pooria was a nice young man, I opted for a "2" stars. If you're in the mood for a steak, I recommend you try a different restaurant.

Great setting and chips but steak needs major improvement!!!

Setting, staff and decor are very inviting for tourists and the chips and sauces were great. Free Turkish tea to wash down the meal was a welcome treat. However we ordered the Rib Eye and New York which were both super bland, cold and watery with no flavouring whatsoever.They all arrived pink despite a range of requests varying from medium to well done and could not be salvaged with all the salt and pepper shakers on the table. In the end most of us left our meat untouched so I would not return. Also ordered a side of veggies which were soggy,presumably from excessive water blanching. I think this place has great potential but some advice for management: Please marinade the steaks a day before with a powerful rub so it does not feel like we are eating raw slabs of meat. Maybe cook the steaks as strips rather than a full slab for even cooking and greater taste with each bite. Grill the veggies until soft without using water. Add a siracha, peppercorn or mushroom sauce to accompany the steak. Please add veggies to the steak 🥩 menu as a given. I find it hard to believe people want to eat Steak and chips these days with no salad or greens.

Decent food, but complete disregard to safety / pandemic

Meat was reasonable quality, cuts on a smaller side, but not complaining given reasonable prices. We had New York and Rib Eye. New York was a bit bland and Rib Eye a bit too fatty, but then again for the price we paid it was good value. Service was friendly and informal. Our biggest complain - we felt very uncomfortable because Smiley and other stuff did not wear masks and were too casual with hand shakes and other close contact situations.

Poor food. Total rip-off

We visited the Smile Steak House in Göreme anticipating great steak and sides. We ordered two Fiorentina Steaks (€35 1050gr T-bone each) with French fries, mash and broccoli. Boy was this bad! The steak was never a kilo each. At best it was half. The meat was poorly cooked and there was more bone and fat than lean bits. The fries were nice but the mash would have fitted on a teaspoon (we had to order more) and the broccoli was cold. What a disappointment. Traveller beware!

Could be better

Expensive and not tasty. We were very tired after long trip of 2 connecting flights and chose this place closd to the hotel. We got beautiful portion of kababs and meat balls but they had no taste of meat - just the spices. As we so that evening just those who ordered steaks had empty plates

Horrible experience

This place does not deserve those comments below and ratings. I and one of my friends wanted to order meat ball and vegetarian food as waiter/owner said it is possible to do. They served us 2 meat ball together with 3 little pieces of broccoli and some potato mash which is absolutely ONLY for one person not for two people. What made us really shocked was the prices. Wine bottle which we did not even see was over-prized. In any restaurant if you order a wine bottle, they bring the bottle to show and let you taste it. Here we were served wine in a carafe and the taste was totally different than what we ordered. During the time we spent there, waiter/owner became drunk and seemed us not trustful. All in all they cheated us with both the menu they served and with the prices afterwards. Please be carefull about such restaurants and their owners.

Great meat at very cozy atmosphere!

We had a great dinner hear on one of the 3 nights in Cappadocia. It was actually the most expensive, but worth every Lira we payed! The steak meat was perfectly cooked and my 7 years old daughter was very happy with her burgher. Our waiter was very sweet and made our time at the restaurant really enjoyable. Well done indeed!

Excellent restaurant, easily recommend

Visited after reading some reviews online and we weren't disappointed. The menu offers a wide variety of different stakes and the presentation was fabulous; served with a wide variety of condiments. The owner made us feel very welcome. Will definately visit again if back in Goreme.

AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE

The place is very kind, same as the guy who attend us. Food was really good. Very nice quality of the meat. Also at the end of the meal the owner offer us some turquish dessert and they were outstanding. I really conseil to go. Prices are very honest.

Unexpected

We were expecting a nice service but our waiter was clearly intoxicated... he couldn't even organize himself with the orders. The steak was nicely done, but lacked flavour, as if it was previously frozen (we went off peak season). Not an experience to repeat.

Steak and Burger

We was suggested for this restaurant from Istanbul by our tour guide. We have tried burger and steak. Both things was so delicious but the main thing is french fried with 4 different sauces Oh My God I still can not forget that taste, That was amazing. Mr Ismail was very nice there her wife Sabiha was very nice to us she was our tour guide as well. I strongly recommend this restaurant

Should have went somewhere else a ton of restaurants on the strip.

Visited yesterday for late lunch. First restaurant on arrival based on reviews. Guy that served us was very salesy and comes across as very superficial, which in-turn leads me to believe that the other reviews here are manufactured. If he spent 2mins to look after us with genuine interest and find out that we would be here for another 5 nights we would gladly come back and try something else. I had the burger which was good, misus had the lamb chops ordered as medium cooked but was well done and very chewy and unseasoned which was a shame presentation was very good. I ordered an Efes beer but was brought something totally different. Desert was lovely but overall very pricy lunch for low season. Automatic 10pc service charge, yeah sure take it.
