This is an overrated place to have goose. Lots of better restaurants all over Taiwan. However I was only in Hualien for a short while so cannot compare to restaurants in this area. The goose was average and other xiao cai were just average or below average.

We stayed 2 days in Hualien. After a long day, without any idea where to eat, we ended up having diner at Mr.Goose. The owner speaks very well english and helped us order on his half translated english menu. We had the 2 specials of the restaurant : breast goose and fried eggs fish. Both of them were delicious, specially... More

很TW的小饭馆,店面很小,我们直接打包的,不贵,超好吃! 半只鸭子,还有鸭翅,鸭爪,特别入味! 强烈推荐。 really local Rest., not so many seats, we had to ask for the takeaway. But really delicious!

We took away a quarter of the goose and really enjoyed the tender breast meat with a few drinks...so much so we went back the second day and got more!

A restaurant with the fell range of foods capable of being extracted from a goose, but be sure you temper you taste for it. Unfortunately, I overgoosed and the taste of goose fat stayed well into the following day. If you heed my warning, the goose meals were delicious to start but became a bit bland once I overwhelmed my... More

Goose blanched in salted water is the speciality here, dipped in special sauce makes for a heavenly combo. The new dish of chicken cooked in oil then chilled is undoubted one of the best ways to let the chicken flavor shine. Pork kidney in sesame sauce is a bit bland for my taste. Recommended.

The goose was delicious. Ask for their special sauce if they don't serve it automatically. They will give you a paper to indicate your orders - get the back (wei 尾) part of the goose if you like something more fatty (yum!). I got the drumstick. It's reasonably priced. I got some fried bird's nest fern (abt 150NT) too! Pleasantly... More

I was there with 2 Japanese, and we all loved the food. We had their signature goose dish and were recommended several great dishes e.g. a sort of fern stir-fry with black beans (I think) which was unique to Taiwan (Hualien?), pork skin as thin as fish skin with chewy texture and deep fried roe with mayonnaise toppings. Go in... More

We were not intended to eat there as our first choice. We dropped by this shop as we found a lot of locals and tourists alike packed inside. Though not very cheap, we found goose meat fresh and delectable, very much juicy, like Chiuchow style. I would recommend it to all fine diners who wants a taste of Chiuchow or... More
