Poor communication between waiter and kitchen. We were first table for lunch, attracted by waiter’s promise of home cooked Sri Lankan food. Order taken promptly and our drinks arrived quickly. It was all downhill from there. Three other table arrived shortly after us, with one...receiving a yummy looking prawn starter and the other table their mains, maybe we had ordered something that took longer, although roti to second table looked similar to what we had ordered. 20-25 minutes after our order was taken the waiter comes to our table and tells us one of our roti dishes not available. OK, shouldn’t have taken this long to find out but no problem and we change so that both dishes are now the same. Another 5 or more minutes later we are told that only one of the chicken roti is available and will have to choose again. By this time we had no time left for lunch as had transport booked and so left without lunch. 40 minutes and no food. Only reason I am not rating lower is that the food on other tables looked good. We headed back to The Fort Printers (so that we could delay transport and have lunch) and had an excellent lobster taco instead for only 1000 Rs more than our Hoppa order. This took only took 15 mins and we were done. Food may be good at Hoppa but be prepared for disorganised service.More
Unique choice of Sri Lankan cuisine, which was relished by our visiting guests. Street ambiance certainly adds a twist to a cosy dining experience. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Certainly went that extra mile to make it a unique dining experience. Of course, we...had an assortment of hoppers. Keep up the standards.More
The tall handsome man who served was very kind but this restaurant was out of nearly everything on the menu. No Isso Vade, No Ice Tea or Beer, No fish for any of the hoppers (how is this possible with a fish market 200meters away)...and also no restrooms available.More
Went there on a recommendation from a blogger . Disappointed.
Hole in the wall serving Hoppas and very bland curry . Cheap but I really don’t know what the fuss is all about. Adequate but I feel I wasted a meal in Galle where I...could have gotten something far nicer. Ok for a quick snack but otherwise unremarkable and not the best Hoppas we had on our stayMore

Good day Jocelyn
Thank you so much for considering us to host you for dinner. As we are a tiny outfit we do not take reservations. However, considering it’s off season there shouldn’t be a wait.
