Great food. Reminded me of when I lived in Puerto Rico. Authentic Spanish food. 5 star 100% every place else pales in comparison.

Before I moved into college, my mother and I decided to come here for a last meal. I ordered the Carne Guisada, which was a good choice. The meal started with a small salad that had fresh, crunchy carrots and lettuce. After a short wait, my meal came out. It consisted of 7 reasonably sized tender chunks of beef stewed... More

Delicious simple "criolla " Latino food. Small modest and informal locale. Located near downtown Albany. Frequented by locals.

Absolutely delicious food. Huge portions, very reasonable price. Kept thinking about the friend plantains and steak for days afterward! Only slight problem was its location in a slightly sketchy area.

This is a small quaint little restaurant. Not fancy and does not have many tables, but I went at lunch time and all the tables were taken. That is always a good sign. Staff was very friendly. The chicken soup was superb. My mom was not feeling well so of course I ordered the soup. When that soup came out, it... More

Ok, so i've only tried the grilled shrimp but it is so tasty and can never get myself to try anything else! My husband got the rotisserie chicken and it was yummy as was the fried whole fish.

The grilled shrimp is absolutely addicting. We do recommend you try Camarones al Pio Pio. It does not have the lemon sauce but its homemade stew brings another flavor to our shrimp. Hope to see you guys soon! More

mr. pio pio might be good for albany (i don't know as it's the only place i've eaten there), but its food can't compete with similarly priced venues in big cities. though the chicken was tender, the ribs and churrasco were definitely NOT slow cooked. the aji hot sauce is quite good. the salad is iceberg with ONE slice of... This was our second visit to Mr. Pio Pio. We had stopped in Albany to eat on our way to upstate NY. We picked this place from Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The seating is limited and the whole set up very ordinary. What comes out of the kitchen compensates for it all. We asked the waiter... More

Visited Mr. Pio Pio in Albany with my family of six. The Trip Advisor reviews influenced our decision for dining and the reviews were accurate. The place is small with only a few tables. However, on the Tuesday we visited there was plenty of space for our family. The kids were ambivalent about trying food from South America before we... More

I read a positive review in local paper about Mr. Pio Pio restaurant and decided to check myself. It turned out that the place was clean and comforting. Air conditioner in summer time, when I visited the restaurant, was a big advantage. I ordered a beef stew. To my enjoinment the meet was very soft and not stif and not... More
