AMAZING AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOOD

Myself and my husband ate here on the 6th March 2020. We stayed in a hotel only a few minutes walk away and after reading the amazing reviews on this restaurant we gave it a go and went for dinner. The food was amazing, so fresh and tasty, we ordered calamari and bruschetta for starters and a pizza and pasta dish for main. Tasty, authentic Italian food. The service was great too, the owner was there making sure all runs smoothly and the waiting staff are quick, efficient and friendly, our waitress was called Sri she was very helpful. Definitely will return when we visit Sanur in the future

Great Italian Restaurant

Went in based on the fact it was busy, rather than my usual TA search. We weren't disappointed. Friendly staff, prompt service, freshly prepared, tasty food. Wine is reasonably priced (for Bali). We had a mixture of pasta, pizza and meat dishes, couldn't fault it. They even have a section with air con. Very pleasant gentleman, possibly the owner keeping an eye on things and chatting to customers. Spotlessly clean. Had a great evening.

Good homemade raviolis

It was going to rain so we decided to try a restaurant close to the villa. It looks promising and we were warmly greeted by an Italian guy whom we assume is the owner. The menu is extensive offering home made pasta and gluten free pasta, we ordered two different kinds of pasta to share with the Greek salad. The homemade mushroom ravioli was delicious. For dessert they have the usual Italian sweets, the ice cream was not homemade so we decided to share the pannacota, it was nice but not mind blowing. We were offered shots of limoncello after our meal, lovely gesture.

Very cosy atmosphere, much better than your main competitor. Food is OK, but just not excellent. Some wrong choices can easily be remedied: no Hatten wine from a big carton but Two Islands, for example, and the seafood pasta could do with a touch of wine. Just dial it up a notch, and you could actually beat that competitor down the road. Oh yah, one more thing: the staff at that competitor is very, very well trained, welcoming and attentive. Your (expecting) staff is the opposite... Please take this as constructive feedback. We live in Sanur and would love to see an excellent Italian.

Great Atmosphere, Food Below Average

I ate here two days ago because I wanted to check out other Italian restaurants in Sanur outside of Massimo and Trattoria. The restaurant is really cute and gives of a cozy ambient atmosphere that’s very comfortable to have dinner in. The service was pretty good, very nice and attentive. The food however needs improvement. It is below average. I got the mozzarella bruschetta, spinach ricotta ravioli al Pomodoro with a glass of red wine. The wine I tried a sip and it tasted really odd, either from the glass or the wine itself, so I changed it with an Ice Lemon tea which was fine. The mozzarella bruschetta was okay but not really anything special or better than cheese on bread that can be done at home because the bread was basic and dry, and it was really just mozzarella on toasted bread with some tomato cubes. The ravioli was also just okay, nothing special as well as the Pomodoro sauce. Generally the food is like something you can buy at the super market preprepared and its okay but not restaurant standards. There definitely needs to be an improvement with flavouring the food because its bland and again just not something I would go out to pay for and eat. The food aspect is a real shame because the restaurant itself is really really lovely and the service is very kind and attentive. If they get their food up to scratch I would definitely go there more often. But as of now better to eat at home or go to the other two Italian restaurants because there at least you get really good food that is worth the price. I read the reviews after going to this restaurant and was a bit hesitant to write a review because it seems the owner and management don’t do well with criticism or actually take it on and just refer to their good reviews rather than making a change. I hope they can take this in because it really is a shame that such a lovely restaurant has such average food.

Absolute ripper Italian restaurant in Sanur

Ate at Bella Italia 3 times in our 11 day stay, normally like to mix it up but went back as the food and service was 1st class. Staff are friendly and helpful without being in your face. The decor and ambiance is very Italian, and the food is as good as you will get anywhere. great selection of drinks and even got a Limoncello "On the house" to finish up on, we were told it is a family recipe made by the owner, delicious. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Top Notch Dinner

Enjoyed a very nice dinner at this restaurant but my wife a little sad as there was no romantic lighted candle on our table, and I seemed to be a magnet for the mosquitos outdoor. I started with the Bruschetta Bella Italia (minus the anchovies) and the main of Scallopine al vino Blanco, both very tasty and meals that I enjoyed. My wife enjoyed her Zuppa Di Pesce although commented that some of the Pesce had somehow eluded the chef. The Bintangs and Sauvignon Blancs were chilled and ideal accompaniments. Unlike other Bella restaurants, no complimentary limoncellos at the end. Great service throughout.

Just felt like something other than Mie Goreng after a couple of weeks in Bali. Don't get me wrong we always eat local otherwise you miss the full cultural experience, however a pizza just seemed to call me! The Meat Lovers pizza was delicious, beautiful home made crust cooked to perfection. Coming from a family of Pizza Lovers with our own wood fired oven I feel I am a bit of an expert.

Every time when we come with family to Sanur we have a lunch at Bella Italia. Food very delicious and so big portions It’s incredible!!!! Even my little daughter likes everything what they have in menu. When you stay there you feel like in Real Italy cause energy of place and of course taste of food. So happy that in Bali there is such a wonderful place for relaxing and eating. Thank you owners for your great attitude to your business and even hard time with corona and everything you still keeping great quality and serves.

Disappointing

Ordered a frozen mango daiquiri came out in a small Martini glass not like in their photos. Mentioned this to the waitress and nothing was done about it. Paid 100000 ++ disappointing. Food was very average.

During peak hours, you can try out the pizzas in front of the store, so if you like it, you can't go wrong. The owner is sometimes there, so if you talk to him, he will gladly help you. If you are tired of Indonesian food or want to eat proper cheese and raw vegetable salad, this is a recommended place to stay in Sanur.

An authentic piece of Italy in Sanur

We ended up coming here 3 nights. The food was the best Italian food I’d had outside of Italy. Given that I’ve visited Italy six times I’d even say that it was better than many restaurants I visited in Italy. The manager was super kind and welcoming, the waiting staff professional and an overall aura of care and love emitted from this restaurant - definitely worth a visit (or three)

Good but small improvements could help

Overall Bella Italia is good. We had Carpaccio di Manzo, Gnocchi Quatro Formaggi and Neopoltan Pizza with added Olives and a bottle of Montepulciano. What I felt let them down was 1. Carpaccio was a bit thick and cheese was light on 2. Pizza topping was skimpy even though paid extra for olives. Service was friendly and good overall. I have been before and will go back BUT Massimo is better in my opinion.
