The caged monkeys are (luckily) gone indeed, so we judged the place as it is now. We had a few drinks here and a nice tastefull dinner. It is a quiet and relaxing place and the staff was very friendly. They paid great attention to details: the cappuccino is delicious! Prices are a bit high compared to other similar restaurants.

Supposed to have an Australian chef. 1) A chef would make a chicken cordon bleu fresh. 2) A chef would not serve frozen cordon bleu. Enough said. Staff indifferent.

Food cheap and good quantities. Rough lot on streets shouted insults to staff. Next day had the diddly squats. Bit rough and ready, staff a bit smelly.

I've enjoyed a drink here a few times while getting a sports fix in a quiet venue rather than a kouta-style 'aussie pub' but won't be doing so again now that caged monkeys are on display! What a way to turn customers away.

What are they thinking?! Is putting distressed monkeys in a cage supposed to get more customers? Apart from being wrong it also puts anybody of sound mind right off their appetite, not to mention any thought of enjoying themselves. Just walk on by...

Having seen that the owners of Warung Kesari are now using young monkeys in a cage (clearly distressed) to attract customers (?) or as means of entertainment (?), I will never set foot into that place again! And I am sure, many people living here as well as tourists just passing by, will be equally disturbed by this animal abuse.... More

May have been an OK bar/restaurant but now live monkeys in a small cage on display for your entertainment, vying with the big screen! That should not be allowed, the Bali authorities should realize people do not like to see such cruelty, and I hope Warung Kesari loses all its business until it releases the monkeys to a safe place!... Please, don't try to please tourists by putting monkeys in caves in front of your warung! Not appropriate and it doesn't help your reputation!

Aside from this restaurant representing one of the grimmer sides of expatriates doing business in Bali (overpriced, unappetising western food, rude treatment of staff, constant oversized television), Warung Kesari seems to have aimed for a new low to include animal cruelty in its unimpressive repertoire by placing a cage full of young monkeys out the front of the restaurant. I'm... More
