When we visited Varanasi 8 years ago, we enjoyed the food here several times. We returned and to our surprise, the owner remembered us. We again found very tasty, freshly cooked food with fresh ingredients that are well cleaned. We heartily recommend it. And taking...the winding laneways to get there is a cultural adventure, as well.More

The Ganga Fugi sits neatly among old buildings squeezed tightly into the beautiful unique lane ways in the old city. The lanes provide a quiet calm break from the loud hectic streets. Kailash the owner treats you as a guest, which in India, is very...important. Each dish is prepared to your preference (not without sincere advice) and is home style. Being in a foreign city, especially without fluency in the local language, gets to be exhausting, but coming to a family owned restaurant where you are treated as a guest in a home, makes you feel at home, Ganga Fuji is no exception. The food is delicious and evidently cooked with love. Varanasi is an ancient city, and most visit in order to appreciate a culturally potent and human city where people be themselves, and don't pretend. Ganga Fuji is a perfect opportunity to find refuge amongst this holy city, and receive authentic hospitality. The location is unique and beautiful, the service is consistent and sincere, and the food is authentic, delicious, and served with love.More

We were welcomed into this restaurant with open arms where the owner, Kalas, sat down with us and gave us many food suggestions which we gladly accepted and was very delicious. We tasted different dishes that we hadn’t tasted before, and were offered different spice...levels according to our preference. The restaurant has a free private music concert where a local man played an Indian flute just for us. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend!! Thank you so much!More

We were two spanish friends visiting Varanasi for 3 days. We tryied several local restaurants. This one is the best by far. The food is really good. In the menu you’ll find not only indian food but also japanese or spanish food. The food is...not oilly at all. Nor spicy either. The best part is that the owner likes to take his time and sit with you to explain the dishes, the ingredients and how they are cooked. He will ask you what are your preferences (even if you have any stomach illness), and give you some advice. Let him advise you!!! In addition, You can find even sweet food like crepes (pancakes) with chocolate or honey and banana. Very tasty. The best option in Varanasi for sure! Btw. Every evening at 19.30 theres is a local music concert.More

The restaurant was near to Kasi Vishwanath temple. The place was clean. The staff there helped us to choose the food from the menu. The food was OK.

The minute we sat down the owner sat next to us and started praising his excellent food and that it is better than in all the other restaurants etc. He did not stop recommending what we should eat which really nerved us. The food was...okay, but definitely not enough on the plate for the money you pay there (180 rp). We prefer value for money.More

This restaurant close to the golden temple has exellent food. The manager Kailash will give you very good advice on what to eat and he will cook you the best meal with a family recepie. Its a very relaxing and comfortable feeling in the restaurant...and the live music is very soothing. He even made us a take away meal for our long train journey to delhi. A must visit in Varanasi!More

Lovely atmosphere, good food, enjoyed the Indian classical music at night. Kailash, the proprietor was also very helpful in suggesting the best why to sight see in the time we had in Varanasi. Angela from Australia

Our guide Rahul from Streetwise Varanasi recommended this family restaurant for dinner and the 8 of us decided after eating out for the past 17 days throughout Rajasthan that this was the best. Rustic atmosphere and great little Indian combo for music topped a fantastic...dinner, not from the menus but what Kalish the owner suggested for us all to share family style. Because everything is cooked from scratch it is not a rushed dinner. Incredible flavours and uses of spices and not spicy hot as we requested.More
