In continuation of our annual vacation we looked out for new and off the beaten path eateries. This place is unique and enjoyable. Prices a little high but worth it.

Grate food with grate ambiance. If you want to enjoy exquisite French food you should definitely visit here. North Indian cuisine is also available but I suggest French. Beautifully organized place and well mannered staffs. Must visit place in Coimbatore:)

My second visit to the French door was even better than the first. The ambience was soothing as usual. For starters we had the quiche with mushrooms and chicken and jalapeno mille feuille. They were delicious. For main course we had the chicken and broccoli...au gratin which was filling. The highlight was the creme brûlée which was light and fluffy and caramelised beautifully. French food in Coimbatore! This is my 2nd visit to this beautiful fine dining place in Coimbatore and let me tell you they are just the same in terms of food ambience and service! It is a beautiful french villa with the most awesome interiors!...We started our lunch with two varieties of soup: The pumpkin Panna cotta soup i The chicken quiche was filled with awesomeness! Loved the subtle flavour. The main course was: Beef tenderloin steak ( medium) just melted in our mouth. Cooked to perfection and served with perfect accompaniment of mashed potatoes and vegetables. The black rice risotto is a new addition to the menu. We got to try that one too. The flavours of porcini mushrooms and green peas do give extraordinary flavour. Finale is always sweet and we did it the French style Creme Brulee. What I liked, it had delicate subtle Flavour! Things to note : This is not another indian flavour types place. You need to know what you could expect here and truly relish and enjoy the food. Shreeya Adka has specialised in French cuisine and she is giving the best to the people of Coimbatore. I went for lunch with family and this was my first visit to Coimbatore. The ambience and the food were amazing. Living in Europe I was surprised to see such a gem in Coimbatore. I had the roasted pumpkin soup, confit duck and baked yogurt....My 6 year old daughter also enjoyed the pasta and the crème Brulé. The presentation and the taste were absolutely blissful. I will definitely visit this place if I am here again.More

One of the best Italian fares I've tasted. The place looks like a house that's been renovated and it's tastefully done. The Mushroom and Sun Dried Tomatoes Crostinni was very good, but the main course took the cake! I tried the Mushroom Risotto and my...wife tried the Beetroot Ravioli ( picture attached ). Both out of the world! My son ordered the Key Lime Pie and I tried the Baked Curd for dessert and I just wish I had the space to eat more... Would highly recommend...More

After many dinners at busy noisy local restaurants, The French Door felt like a quiet retreat to Europe. Upon going through the gates, we were intrigued by the elegant and quaint French feel. The restaurant has two floors with a few bigger and smaller, more...private rooms. The heavy tables are set nicely with cloth napkins and silverware. We even got a fancy vintage high chair for our daughter. The service is very professional, the waiters know the art of being helpful but not in an overbearing way. We ordered spring rolls, steak with grilled vegetables, mushrooms and mashed potatoes and penne with pesto. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The baked yoghurt for desert was divine! The tea was served on a wooden tray in a cute white pot. I wish they offered good loose tea instead of teabags though. The French door is definitely a nice place for a fancy dinner or a special occasion. If you are not into French cousine, they have a large Indian menu as well.More

Of all the eateries that we have visited in Coimbatore, over the past nine years, the French Door is easily the best, in terms of ambience, quality of food and the service. My only grouse, if you can call it that, is that it is...sometimes difficult to catch the eye of the staff, expecially given the layout of the place, being divided into rooms. But all that is easily forgotten and forgiven, due to the food, which is absolutely top-class. You can easily gorge on it, but don't - you wont have space for the lovely desserts !More
