Restaurant was started in 1996, but from last 3 years management has changed did renovated the place and changed the ambiance, now runs by experienced enthusiastic team most of them worked in hospitality industry for more than 20 years.

We booked an evening meal having had chai at Rainbow Restaurant. The restaurant was absolutely full, so we needed to book, and the table we had asked for was 'Promised' for us. Lively atmosphere, great food and good service, so in all it was a very good choice. The waiter even told us we had ordered too much food and he suggested we drop one starter - he was right! Lovely view, friendly place, excellent price - what's not to like?

What a fabulous restaurant. We spent almost three weeks in Udaipur and found no better place to eat, relax for a few hours and watch the most spectacular sunset than that at the Rainbow restaurant. The food and the choices are excellent both at breakfast but even more so in the evening. They offered the full range of Rajasthani food and it, as well as the drinks menu, was more than reasonably priced - really good value for money. The staff are all polite and attentive and the ambiance is perfect. It’s clean and tidy which makes the visit a real pleasure. The view is over the main lake and just perfect for an evening meal. We loved it so much we returned again and again. Don’t miss it, it’s one of our favourite experiences of Udaipur.

We had the best meal at Rainbow. Not easy to find meat around veggie paradise thats India. The Honey tikka chicken was so soft and tasty, and for vary fare price (320 rp). The views are also perfect and the service was fast.

If you have enough time to chill or have missed breakfast at your hotel then this Cafe addresses all of ur needs.
The view is awesome as it’s a rooftop cafe and the choices are both Indian and European so caters to all tastes.
Chill here with a book or just watch the serene lake and enjoy life at its best.

Great location overlooking the lake. Vigilant staff. Nice atmosphere. Unfortunately it just churns out the average overpriced,under par, tourist food that we have come to expect in
tourist locations in Rajasthan. We had hoped this restaurant might have been different but alas it was not.

It’s at a great location the food is also ok but they just don’t know to treat their guest .
I went there early at 5.45pm so that I can get a lake facing diwan and I did get that .
There was not a single time that my table was empty nor did I order just one thing to pass my time . I kept ordering stuff .
Icing on the cake comes at 7.30 - the staff tells me there is a reservation n I need to empty the table - I had a complete pasta and whole drink on the table and he expects me to take the food and eat it else where ?
It was a complete WTF moment .
I have never felt so insulted in my life
If they wanted that table they should hv informed me when I took that table and if not then they could have told me when I placed the order for food .
Seriously the hotel needs to learn what hospitality is .

Came here for both an evening meal and for breakfast the following day.
The evening meal was good with a range of vegetarian and non vegetarian Indian dishes and well as a number of western options.
A full bar was available and service was good. The rooftop gives good views over the lake especially at sunset.
Returned the following morning for breakfast. I had the non veg club sandwich which was excellent and huge. One between two would have been perfectly adequate. A few had the bacon which we will not be recommending, tough and tasteless.
Good coffee, less impressive lassie.

We ate here one night as it appeared popular with both locals and tourists and loved it so much we came back the next night.
We went for local style vegetarian curry options and had a wonderful meal with rice and breads and beer to go with. Service was excellent and we even stretched to try a pudding which was also fantastic (we had skipped lunch!)
Second night we tried different curries which were excellent too.
Views were spectacular but it was a bit chilly - overall we loved our experience at Rainbow.

I have never reviewed any place quite so quickly. I am still in the resturant. And I am waiting for someone to serve me. The menu took a good 10 min to arrive.the waiter came another 10 min later to take my order. I don't know when the food will arrive. It's now over 10 min since I ordered. I understand the food will take time.But I can't come to grips that a bottle of beer takes this long to arrive. PATHETIC SERVICE. I will add a review about the food if and when in arrives.

If you want to have good view - there are other multiple places, but food here is good however the hospitality and service and staff behaviour is horrible. If you are ok to wait for 2 hrs to get food this should be your first choice, ordered just tobesco and mustard sauce to pizza and pasta which was served they got it after 10 reminders. Then when we came second time having 2 hrs of spare time- the food which was served was too cold and not a good behaviour from staff. DO NOT GO

I recently had a disappointing experience at Rainbow Restaurant. Despite it being a slow day, the service was incredibly slow. My beer took 15 minutes to arrive, and the appetizers took a staggering 45 minutes. The staff seemed more interested in chit-chatting and watching TV than attending to customers. When we finally got our food, the portions were small and unsatisfying. To top it off, the service was downright rude. I expected much better and won’t be returning anytime soon.

Bad taste and not a great service is provided here. We ordered Pizza, Biriyani, Sandwiches and everything was disappointing in terms of taste. Only the view of Lake Pichola is good from the first floor of this restaurant.

Food and service is outstanding. We were able to sit for long periods of time ordering yummy cocktails and espresso coffees. Both days we visited Udaipur we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at this restaurant. Variety of Indian and western food. Thali rolls are great! Breakfast omelette was delicious.

A quiet place,away from the noise traffic, with a panoramic view of the lake and distant mountains. This rooftop restaurant serves 5 star food, without or which meat. In busy periods it may take awhile for your food to arrive, but it is worth every minute you wait.
