Visited last night. Service was friendly and excellent. BUT. This is a restaurant with a massive (30+ page) menu, that tries to please everyone, but pleases no-one. And the cost was 5,369Rp for one course and a soft drink for 2 people (see photo). I...was told that the chefs speciality was Laal Maas (1,000Rp). It was delicious,. Unfortunately my daughter chose non veg kebab platter (2000Rp). The meat was very dry and coincidentally she is very sick today. Also beware of the added costs. 1 serve of steamed rice (475Rp) 1 mineral water (225Rp). Please visit the beautiful hotel. Have a coffee. But avoid the restaurant.More

Laxmi Niwas Palace - a heritage property doesn't fail its visitors to tell tales of the past. If one has an eye, this place has so much to offer. The stay in itself has so much to explore and feel. The royal rooms, commanding structures,...and mystical stories seem to have an essence all around the place. So much history and marvels of Indian architecture are available to absorb that our one-night stay seemed insufficient. There was an uncanny desire to know each and every corner - as if there was something important connected to each part of the palace. A beautiful outdoor setup along with local Rajasthani folk dance and music again lets one live a moment right out of the Kings and Queens era. Somehow, I am unsure why the food has been rated low in many reviews and also some reviews stated that the staff is not very hospitable to Indian tourists. As far as our experience goes, we were tended to in an excellent manner. Each call, service, and rendering of facilities was done with finesse. In fact, our dining experience became better since the serving team discussed our interests and suggested what would be the best dish to try. It was truly homely and warm that the serving staff politely indicated that common North Indian dishes can be found almost everywhere and explained the preparation of Banjara Chicken which was a local specialty. The ambiance was simply matchless as it was Christmas Eve too! We had to leave for our onward journey the very next day yet we took a good half day to leave the place. People with photography as their hobby will find endless opportunities to click amazing pictures. It is really difficult to summarize the whole place in just a few words... it needs to be experienced, rather! We wish the very best to Laxmi Niwas Palace and all those who strive to maintain this heritage property... Three Cheers and Keep It Up....!!!More

We throughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The building is spectacular, the staff helpful, and the rooms comfortable. We really enjoyed the food at dinner and the musical entertainment just made it more special.

The entire experience was very poor...Laxmi Niwas is super over priced during Christmas, was entirely sold out and their service was below standard. Food...was very bad in breakfast, aloo sabji was bad I think as many of us fell sick right after...we skipped the free...breakfast next day and went to chotu motu joshi instead. Elevator was not working. Rooms had bad, stained bath tub Wifi....wow, that never works on 3rd and 4th floor... assuming other floors had a problem tooMore

Truly awful experience at the restaurant. I stayed here for two nights during the peak Christmas season. Tried their Breakfast and it was really disappointing to say the least. They have a standard breakfast spread consisting of Aloo Poori, Idli, Vada, fresh fruits and eggs....Nothing spectacular to write about. I had a huge stomach upset after my meal here. Next day I decided to skip my breakfast or any meal with them.More
