A beautiful restaurant at the centre of Pune. It's a landmark of sorts. Seating is not so posh, but serves the purpose. Variety of dishes to choose from, both beg and non veg. But people throng the place for its signature dish: bun maska and...tea. Both are very delicious. There are a plethora of non veg dishes too. Lot of takeaway crowd also. Frequented by all age groups. There is a small space outside where you can see a young crowd chi--chatting over a cup of tea. Service is polite and reasonably quick. A little costly but the dishes are absolutely worth the price. Don't miss this when you are around Deccan gymkhana and Ferguson college areas.More
Cafe Goodluck is a gem, period. Most restaurants serving Indian cuisine increase spice levels in their curries to a very high level but goodluck cafe keeps it basic. Though the place is small and is always crowded, takeaway is a good option. The food is...so tasty and wholesome that it makes you want to come back, again and again. The prices are competitive and it serves both veg/non veg, snacks and main course. I am a fan of their paneer bhurji and bhurji pav. It has been doing well for 80 years and I really wish they complete 100 years and keep running. Really wish they renovate and come into mainstream. I really like the socialist charm of the restaurant, which is in stark contrast of modern day capitalist restaurantsMore
Good quality food as well as taste. Irani restaurant. Bun maska and chaha is a speciality. Their caramel custard is excellent. But the place is overcrowded. You have to share table with others. Service is not great; only average.
We are 3 English ladies and we stopped her for a light lunch of samosas and bun masks both items were very tasty. The staff were all very friendly and it appears that the local people all eat here.
This place will never disappoint you in terms of taste of food and cost. At the price they charge you can get only this much better service.
Feeling lost and fooled. I mean, why are some places over hyped? Why ppl get so superlative? Can we separate out two things?? Like taste of food is just the taste of it and the rest factors like ambiance, location, feel, history, legacy, hot chicks...to see are all different points. Don't mix, don't bias rating on one point with others. We went there, and ordered for the most popular item: bun maska. Believe me, it was a waste of time, money and hopes. Nothing much to explain and analyze, we ordered just 3 for 4ppl and still some part of it was left. Tea was the worst ever, it was like straight out of an office canteen where pantry guy is pissed-off for life and makes the worst tea..... such that no one should ask for another tea, to avoid extra work. I'm not going here againMore

Very traditional oily food. Good taste. Overpriced. Generally over crowded. Looking for an old world charm, this is the place, if you are ready to wait and deal with rush, heat and crowd. I guess it has a nostalgic for lot of students who studied...here or old time Punekars.More
I went here on the recommendation of my daughter who is an avid foodie and did her undergrad in Medicine from Pune. She and I share the same tastes food-wise. I was in Pune playing a bridge tournament and post the tournament, I took an...auto here for a much-anticipated dinner. I was all by myself, so I could not sample a variety of dishes that this place has on offer. The place is in a crowded area. No marks for location. The place is a typical Irani type of place with tables that are squished against each other. Hygiene is at a premium. You have to share your table with one or more guests. The food is good. I had ordered the bheja fry omelet (my daughter's recommendation). Nice, but oily and quite heavy. It was certainly not inexpensive though - so not value for money All in all, I would have enjoyed it more in my heyday. Recommend it if you would like the traditional Muslim food Irani cafe style.More
