The best pizza we had in India. Your pizza will be cooked in the traditional fire oven and the fresh Italian Basil from the garden will change your experience. The staff is very kind and the place also
This is our second meal here. The first time we did Italian - spinach lasagna and crepes. They were great - the best lasagna we have had here in Varkala. Today we had North Indian which was superb. We highly recommend this restaurant!
Mamma Champos is a little off the main tourist area, near to papanasam beach. It's set in a garden above road level and it was lovely to eat there while watching the world go by. We could see fruit bats feeding just over the road...which was spectacular. The food is lovely, and portions so generous that we shared starters and main courses. Best of all were the staff who were very friendly and helpful. It became our favourite place to eat while in VarkalaMore
Usually I only go on 2 praise establishments for their food or service, however this place really dropped the ball last night.I ask the waiter” can you guys cook squid properly .I don’t want a plate of rubber””.He laughed nervously which I took as acknowledgment that...he was sympathetic to my cause.(how wrong I was)
When the plate turned up it was over flowing with huge inedible chucks of squid rings
Smothered in garlic.I’m No Gorden Ramsey but this squid had been frozen and worse probably out of a packet (really? Unforgivable)it was not a simple case of bad cooking
And to add insult to injury they put a 300 Rp mark up on a bottle of wine (a new unpleasant twist not present 2 years ago).Sorry won’t be back.
No decent restaurants left on the beach but plenty on the cliffs....north & southMore
This place does absolutely sensational, generous and authentic Italian pizzas made in a proper brick oven. As a result they have a wonderful taste like you could be somewhere in the Deep South of Italy. For some random place in India I was mighty impressed....And to crown it off, the prices are very reasonable.More
