This place has a beautiful view and vibe. The cocktails and food are both yummy. We went there twice during our stay in Varkala, once for lunch and once for dinner.

Worst food. I didn't like any of the food that was served to me. Really pathetic. Because it's a German Bakery I ordered western style food varieties. None of them tasted good. I had thé chance to stay on Varkala for a yoga retreat. I enjoyed eating at Abba very much. Food is délicious : indian or occidental food. Bakery is soooo goood. Cakes are a delight. For breakfast, occidental lunch, sweat tea time or indian and...chinese delight, you can go there with blind eyes. The service is extremely slow. They don’t seem to know how to service customers. You have to walk up to a waiter requesting them to take your order. Being one of the only places serving alcohol, it’s got a good footfall but they clearly don’t...know how to manage the footfall. They really need a hospitality course!More

My friends heard from colleagues about ABBA being a favourite so we made an effort to have lunch during our stay in Varkala. The walk from the carpark at North Cliffs winds along the coast and offers great views. We reached ABBA and decided to...return for lunch after our walk further up the path. By then it was mid afternoon and the place was less crowded. We got a table close to the path so that we had uninterrupted views to sea. The fresh fruit juices were refreshing. Our chicken burgers were well cooked and tasty. We decided to get some of the German cakes on display to take away with us - the restaurant is a couple of minutes away from the actual bakery but the cakes are on display in a cake cabinet. despite it being less busy, we had to go to the counter to order and pay for our meals. Service was okay. The several cakes bought to share ranged from simple lemon cake to a chocolate - all were tasty but a little dry. We were satisfied with our experience.More

Absolutely unhappy with the staff of the place. Both with manager Harry and waiter Jimmy. I can't imagine how someone so rude can work with people, specially in the sphere where services are to be provided in a polite manner. Wanted to have breakfast there...was told they are opening at 8.30 and to go to any other place which I don't mind. But was told that in a very rude way and it grew in a bigger argument unfortunately. Won't go to that place again and won't recommend my friends either.
