The Bait & Hook, our multi-cuisine restaurant at B'Canti Boutique Beach Resort in Varkala, Kerala. Our restaurant focuses on traditional Kerala elements with it's architecture and South Indian cuisine. The Bait & Hook also offers sea-food, North Indian, Tandoor, Italian and Chinese a la carte dishes to provide a diverse selection of food. Come visit us for a sumptuous meal by the Sea!

We visited as it is top of the trip advisor list and were very impressed with both the food and service provided. Our waiter, Tapas was very helpful and even checked how spicy we like our meals. It was all excellent, the food tasty, portion size good and the service was outstanding, a young lady kept an eye on us to refill our plates too. Although it’s not cheap I would definitely recommend.

I visited "The Bait and Hook" during the ongoing pandemic and I must say that I am mighty impressed by their service. They sanitize the whole restraunt regularly and make the place safe for us to eat. Their food is amazing. I am a pure vegetarian guy and eating Veg at this restraunt was a treat. I strongly recommend you to try the tomato soup there. Also, they serve very good chineese food as well.
The view from the restraunt is breathtaking. You are able to see the private part of the ocean from the restraunt. It feels so calm to sit there and enjoy the food 😍.
I recommend everyone reading my review to visit "The Bait and Hook" to have an amazing time while eating.

Had an excellent service provided by the staff, led by Tapas who was very informative and provided excellent menu choices. Also the trainee manager from West Bengal (sorry didn’t catch the name) was very polite and ensured my beer glass was always topped up. The place is slightly remote from Varkala but was worth the travel. Thank you.

Avoid this place. Total scam on the price. We were the only customers and paid St Tropez prices. Compared to similar restaurants in the neighborhood this cost 4 times as much. 9000 rupees for one fish two prawns and two glasses of local wine! Not the Kerala vibe we know.

I asked to make diet seafood (without oil and spices), kindly explained to the waiter that I have sensitive stomach.
After long waiting they brought oily fried fish. I was disappointed. Couldn’t eat that at all.
Prices in restaurant not correspond to quality.

Great views and good service. Very below average and very overpriced food and drinks (beer twice more expensive then in other places). Almost broke a tooth on chicken 65. Very dry prawns and fish. There are other good food restaurants with better prices and comparable views around.

This restaurant is attached to the beautiful resort. Food is served to the room or the you can go to the restaurant. I personally recommend you to go to the restaurant and enjoy the food with that Amazing view of the view. Food is very yummy and tasty freshly prepared and have variety of options international and local. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Loved the experience and I would highly recommend everyone to visit here with your partner or family.

Hey hey hey, if you want tasty and delicious food with a perfect view for your vacations then your search ends here. This restaurant provides all variety of food, be it north indian or south indian. I went there after lockdown opened and I had really nice experience. I have been to so many places in India and most of time, I had to struggle with food and especially when it comes to south as I am from North but this time I was not disappointed and in fact I was happy because even though I tried South Indian dishes. It was so tasty, specially Kerala parantha with butter paneer masala and my favourite vanila shake is a must try.

We had a special candle light dinner at the restaurant during our stay and it was well worth it. The ambience and the food were great. Finally the service provided made our dinner even more enjoyable. There was a certain charm with the setting and was a first experience we had like this.

We really enjoyed the seafood offerings from the restaurant and suggest the prawns or the fresh catch on offer. We had them prepared in lemon and butter seasoning along another in South Indian masala. Very hygienic and prompt service from the team. There is a stunning view on offer throughout the meal and is a unique one for sure.

Spent a great deal of time here during our trip and we felt so comfortable by the end. Service staff were friendly and took care of all our food requirements. Our favourite was the candle light arrangements they made for us and the prawns in Indian and continental flavouring were really tasty. Appreciate the team for making many memorable memories for us.

This restaurant with beach view is so amazing. Food is so delicious and mouth - watering. Had my breakfast, lunch, and dinner for two days here and is very happy with the service. Everything ordered was up to the mark and was in good quantity. Highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. If in Varkala, definitely a place to visit.

I have got to taste all vegetarian dishes be it indian cuisine , Chinese or infact continental . And they are just so yummy .
Desserts / pastries by the in-house chefs are the love. Don't miss to try that.
I celebrated my birthday here and the hospitality and the services are amazing !
Love the food 💕
Not to miss the most amazing candle light dinner next to the beach ofcourse with the beach view rest you can imagine .😍

The food here was fantastic and the staff was friendly too. They made everything on order as requested. Being a north Indian. I crave for north Indian food in south and it's rare to get good north Indian food here. But they made the north Indian cuisines very well. The flavors were on on point. My favorite was the yellow Dal which I ordered in every meal along with other dishes.

We visited the restaurant as it came up high on trip advisor.. but wouldn’t return or recommend.
The restaurant lacked atmosphere and we had a really long wait for the food. When it did eventually arrive it was nothing out of the ordinary and doesn’t reflect the price you pay.
We are in some amazing restaurants in Fort Kochi, but bait & hook was more expensive then all of these.
