I have been here in Jan 2021. Nothing much in menu but taste is good. I tried egg bhurji and veg fried rice. Decent taste. No t much tangy and spicy. It was decent. Nothing for infants.

We had two chicken curries with rice and bread at this little, outdoor restaurant. Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the other reviews on here, that this place just seems overhyped. The chicken was quite dry and the curries really lacked the amazing...flavours that we’ve come to find in Indian cooking. Friendly service and staff, but unfortunately the quality of food just let it down for us.More

Great little spot in Thekkady! Food was tasty and well priced, service was good (takes a bit but that’s because they make every dish from scratch) and they had beer. Clearly popular with tourists- and for good reason.

We visited here having read other good reviews. It’s rather hidden, being tucked away down a narrow passageway and we only spotted it due to the illuminated signage. (Note: it seems to be called Grandmas Cafe during the day and Grandmas Kitchen at night, so...signage says both). It looks like someone’s small house from the front and once down the passage opens out. The floor is gravel clippings and there is seating for about 30 in total but a couple of these are large tables for groups and then tables of four, so if you are a couple it might be better to get their early. The menu was not particularly extensive, but there was sufficient choice plus chilled Kingfisher beer was also available. The waiter was pleasant, friendly and efficient and there was background music for atmosphere. The food was good, with one curry made extra spicy as requested. Prices were also reasonable. All in all an enjoyable experience.More

Overhyped restaurant, by far the least tasty meal I had in India. Ordered a Kerala speciality, and the rice was undercooked and chicken was dry.

We went as a big group and the staff were great sorting our tables. Most of the group ordered curry and all said the food was tasty. Fruit platter with ice cream was a good alternative if you need something lighter. Atmosphere is super chilled...and there’s clean bathroom facilities. All in all a good little local cafe with clean/safe foodMore

I found this restaurant a little "over hyped" from some of the glowing reviews but it still offers a very good dining experience. The restaurant has a very vibe, rustic feel to it with music and an open plan kitchen area. The food was good...(although we did ask for a non spicy fish dish, that came spicy....). Apart from the spice the fish was good. The waiter was very good, pleasant and efficient. They serve beer here which is an added bonus.... Overall an enjoyable meal in a good atmosphere.More

Good choice for meal with young children. Wide Choice of Indian and western food options. Service is a little slow - we were warned about this and go there early to put our orders in at 7pm but didn’t get our food until nearly 8pm....Kids were starving but ate every scrap. Tasty and good value for moneyMore
