We located this place in December 2010 while searching for as place with vegetarian options in Thekkady. We were served a wonderful veg pasta which remains the best food memory of Thekkady for us.

Our tour guide took us here for lunch. It is like a metal shack slightly tucked away off the road. Food was well-priced and tasted fresh and well-flavoured. In short, delicious.
Had two great meals. First time we saw a tandoori oven in use. Great food nan breads were amazing and great service. Would recommend a visit.
We had 2 excellent meals. Great food, good menu and helpful staff and prompt service. Nice atmosphere and good location
This place was recommended by our driver. Although mainly western tourists visit this place it has quite a nice ambiance. Good pastas and local dishes.
We stayed at the Spice Village Resort in Thekkady. Our driver suggested we try the Bamboo Cafe, which was a block away. He took us there. It is located down an alley off the main road and it did not look appealing. Despite its appearance,...it was clean, the people were great, and the meal was the best we had in India. I had fresh King fish. It was fantastic. And to make it even better, out two meals totaled less than USD $10.More
stopped in with our driver and had lunch here. Eminently reasonable prices and lovely local food There is nothing pretentious about Bamboo but if you like local cuisine and friendly service and authenticity I don't think you'll be disappointed
Food not upto the mark. Taste is very average. Cleanliness & timely service is horrible. I would not prefer this place again
Great food and great value, close to shops, hotels and the lake. The restaurant showed closed on trip advisor but is normally open from 7.30 am to 9.30 pm. The owner is updating the schedule on trip advisor. Great service from friendly staff. Worth a...visit while in KerilaMore
We were in Kerala for 9 days and this was the first place where we found authentic Kerala food. Served on banana leaves (although many places do that), each dish was unique and delicious. Several veggies, fish curry, fried fish, and pickles were arranged on...each persons ‘plate’ and each separate item was truly delicious. It is not a ‘fancy’ place - it is a place where locals go but it was the best place for authentic Kerala food. My husband had been asking for real Kerala food for a week and most places cater to tourists by cooking North Indian food since many outsiders are most familiar with North Indian food. But Kerala food is not to be missed. Excellent and yummy! (They also do North Indian food if you ask - we ordered Palak Panir for the baby and it was also good).More
