Had lots of laughs and cooked up some delicious food with our very friendly and funny host who got us to help. An amazing insite into the Indian cuisine. Especially loved the pineapple curry and paratha.
On arrival we were set to chopping vegetables which helped us get to know the other guests. Everyone had a go at shredding coconut and then into the kitchen to cook. This husband and wife team have a great rapport and he is very much...the entertainer. The food was delicious and we all had a hand in making it. Recipes were adjusted for vegetarians and a print out of recipes was provided. The kerallan parata were gorgeous and the kingfisher rounded things off.More
We had a great time at bar-b-que with Sheril the chef. Great cooking lesson that resulted in a delicious feast that we ate together. Sheril is a natural teacher and comedian, a lovely evening with lots of laughs❤️
Fabulous cooking course, it’s very laid back and fun. It was like learning to cook in someone’s home.
It was a perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon and we would recommend it to everyone.
It took about 2 hours from start to finish, we...were the only 2 people as we hadn’t booked (just got lucky) it may take longer for larger groups.More
I was really looking forward to doing an Indian cooking class, but I found this one very disappointing. The owner was a funny guy, but you could sense he was doing the same phrases all the time with tourist groups, so it didn't feel natural....The place was not clean (walls very dirty, year old dust on everything except the prepararion area in the kitchen) and I even saw a cockroach on the wall.
Because there were no windows, there were a lot of bugs and moths coming in - which I would not have minded, but the food was not covered so one of them ended up in the curry. Also the group was only told to wash their hands after the vegetables had been chopped - I'm pretty sure not everyone did it before the class started. The okras we were supposed to chop were very dirty as they hadn't been washed before but only afterwards (which makes no sense as you loose all the vitamins). We had to chop the fresh pineapple on the same, dirty plate.
Both the owner and his wife were very friendly though. Personally I had much better food in different places (some of the Indian streetfoood was just amazing), but tastes differ and other people from the group enjoyed it.More
The food was amazing and we had to taste, smell, prepare everything! Asha told us how and which herbs you throw together. I went to the cooking class on my own. There were other people also joining. So you can really good go on your...own if you want. Just call them and make an appointment. Really worth it! The people as the dishes where really nice! And you really gets enough!More
So much fun, learning how to prepare authentic food and then eat it - what is not to like? In a group of 6, everyone had a go at everything. 4 members of the tour decided to go to a restaurant - they were green...with envy when we told them how much fun it was.
Be warned the path to the property is VERY steep and slippery if it's been raining, don't let that put you off thoughMore
We saw this place on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go as something different during our time in Kerala. It was no more expensive than a meal out plus we got the chance to learn how to cook some authentic Keralan food. We...booked via Whatsapp and it took a while to get a reply. However, the owner duly arrived at our hotel to collect us. He was very friendly and welcoming. There were six in our group so it was a nice small number. We immediately were involved in chopping and preparing the dishes and then they were cooked one by one. Everyone was included and got to do different bits and the evening went by in a flash. We then got to sit down and eat the food we had cooked which was very tasty. A cold beer with it went down a treat.
The family is lovely and it was a very pleasant evening. The experience is very rustic but don't let that put you off - it felt very authentic and hygiene standards were good. We really enjoyed this and would highly recommend it.More

We just went to the 5:30 session tonight which was convenient for us, but they were saying they run classes at approx 11am, 4pm, 5:30pm and 7pm, but it maybe based on demand. Another class certainly started at 7pm while we were there.
Most of their bookings seemed to come from travel companies and local accommodation. Our homestay organised ours when we asked if they knew of any, which happened to be this that we found on here (they had each other on speed-dial on their phones!). I’d suggest speaking to the accommodation if you have that much booked.
