Very quick and efficient service on my two visits. Nice place to sit. Lovely spinach, mushroom and cheese omelette, very generous size, and huge drinks.

OK, I've written in high praise of this cafe over many years, and indeed it always deserves it. A winning business model by Edgar who owns this wonderful watering hole and art gallery. But times are changing, and I'd like to throw in a few...caveats this time. The food is excellent - can't be denied. The staff likewise. They've added in some new menu items to suit the new fashion for purism in foods, which are are good additions - we tried a few and were well satisfied. Far be from me to cast aspersions at what is plainly still the 'in' place to go and be seen in Fort Kochi by the prissy new middle class youth with too much money in their pockets (may I suggest they save and invest it instead - very hard times are coming). But nonetheless, here are a few suggestions: 1. Brown bread. Sorry to inform you, but this is white bread with brown dye - it was a fashion in the West about thirty years ago. It is NOT healthy. Foreigners just laugh at this quaint throw-back. I know, I know, as I was informed at Loafers Inn, who also fall for this same culinary scam, it's what the young Indians want! Well, they need to be taught it's crap. Better to make the switch that has occurred in the West - to sourdough. I'm sure your bakers could whip up a good sourdough that is suitable for sandwiches. And make that wholemeal please. (Edgar - take note) 2. Ambient music. Again, the newly minted Indian youth believe that electronic doof music is all the rage. Sure, a minority of Westerners still dig this profane trance music - it was a hit in the 80s and 90s, when Western youth had no knowledge of real ethnic trance music. Look, I'm a musician and sound engineer. The kind of music is not as important as the soundscape. Loud bass is a big hit these days with Indians (used to be distorted speaker sound, which I quite liked). Bass is an adolescent-ear element, but is not effective in any kind of crowded or acoustically uncontrolled space, because it blows out, becomes muddy and annoying (you can't hold a conversation). Sure, you may not be able to afford high quality midrange, but in general, sound systems in crowded areas should shift EQ towards the treble (not too much), which doesn't bounce around and provides that aural atmosphere which enhances customer experience. Otherwise there is a fantastic range of Bollywood-style Indian lounge and groove music which is perfect for cafes. Don't fall for boring electronic elevator music. And for Bhagwan's sake, turn it down! Meanwhile, that statue of the weeping man was outstanding! A fabulously crafted piece of artwork - most impressive, and I completely endorse the sentiment! Everyone should read and awaken to the comment for this statue.More

The minute you step in, the interiors and decor of Kashi Art Cafe take your breath away. Artistic, warm and cozy, Kashi Art Cafe invites you in with a warm welcome. But what actually makes this place so great are its people - be it...the Manager Sujith, who will go out of his way to ensure all your needs are met and more, or Chef, who will serve some amazing delicacies with a side of great conversation! The food here is absolutely delectable and will satiate both, your tummy and your soul. The ingredients are fresh and the flavours pop, making the overall experience outstanding. I have visited Kashi Art Cafe multiple times during my stya at Fort Kochi and cannot wait to go back. Would definitely recommend trying everything on the menu but especially the chocolate mud cake!More

Came here initially for lunch and tried the chocolate cake and chicken sandwich. Absolute food heaven! I have certainly never tasted a chocolate cake so good before. Portions are also large and one piece of cake would do 2 people. Loved it so much that...came back 2 other times and got takeway for dinner.More

We went on a Saturday night for a laid back dinner and it wasn’t crazy busy, the ambience was great (international, lounge music, artsy, casual). The food was surprisingly very good. We had a chicken dish with potatoes and carrots with couscous in gravy and...2 frappuccinos for $12 US. Highly recommend and centrally located.More

Had to wait for a table, but that was fine. Very disappointing cold coffee - in fact worst one in India so far. Our food arrived at different times, so in essence ended up eating alone - never good and staff not so friendly. Food...was delicious and the general vibe of the place is lovely, so they kind of got away with it!More

We had to queue 20 minutes for a table but it was worth it. We had a drink whilst waiting and read the menu; the staff were really helpful. The courtyard setting was airy, colourful, and had great vibes. The food, especially muesli with fruit...salad and poached eggs with avocado, was excellent. A little more than we would normally spend, but worth it.More

Tired old menu which hasn’t been updated in all the years I have been coming here. Staff too busy ambling around talking to each other so trying to order took ages. Asked for cake. It came red hot and smothered in sauce. Disgusting. Just wanted...plain piece of cake which hadn’t been in microwave. Nobody asked if I would like it drowned in sauce!!!!!!! Did I complain- nope as life is too short to wait for member of their staff to walk by. I lot of new places have opened in Kochi which are miles better than this tired old place. So no more Kashi.More

We'd heard much about the place but were very disappointed with the attitude of the servers. The food was okay, nothing exceptional but that's what you'd expect with a chef that had an angry expression when he came outside his kitchen ! I hate to...say it but we ( and the ladies on the table next to us), noticed a definite pro-foreigner bias.More

I went alone for lunch here, based on its reputation. I didn’t mind the wait for a table (only about 15 mins), but once seated I waited 10 minutes for a menu. The place was extremely busy and the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. But...after ordering I waited over half an hour for a cold drink and salad - really nothing complicated! I have a feeling my order was forgotten somehow. The meal itself was very good ( roast beetroot and walnut salad) but took a star off for service.More

Went there twice during our stay at Kochi - the only place we repeated. Went for dinner once and then for a breakfast. The concept is great - art installations set all through the cafe. Food quantity is sufficient enough and its value for money....The cafe is small in area and hence gets busy during major meal timings but it is worth its fame.More

We had a lovely brunch here. The menu is extensive. The restaurant is very popular so we had a short wait for our table. The food was very tasty. The coffee (cappuccino)was not as good as I expected for a European style bakery- felt like...filtered coffee with a little bit of foam milk on top. We asked for water four times and it never arrived..More

This is a must-go place. Every single item on the menu seems to be made to perfection with their own little twists. The place is almost always crowded and so expect to wait in line specially if you are going in a bigger group.
